21 - Frenkie de Jong

How was he today?

One of the worst players on the pitch honestly. Constantly pressured, took way to long on the ball and then got dispossessed 3-4 times in the build up, almost even conceded a goal because Sané took the ball from him in his own half directly from 2nd half kickoff. Defensively I haven't seen him win a tackle, or make an interception all game. Dude was mainly jogging around in midfield, didn't create anything and sidepassed like crazy and whenever he lost the ball we immediately had a counter unterway. All in all a complte contrast to his performances in the 1st leg.

Overrated tbh. I wanted him and De ligt but then again why would we pay so nuch for an unproven prospect playing in farmers league.

Even Andre Gomes had an amazing euro campaign before joining us.

De Jong can easily be Gomes v2 but triple the cost.

Financially going for a proven player like Pogna and getting Rabiot on a free makes more sense

Let's just stop buying youth players and watch them go to clubs like City and meanwhile help ourselves to the mighty Rabiots of the world

Wouldn't mind missing out on Rabiot just to see the reactions to some of the Catalan Journalists.

Those guys have a massive hard-on for the guy like he's the only good CM we can get.

If Xavi was a workhorse, maybe it is time to shut down Barcaforum.

When we are talking about workhorses, people are mostly talking about midfielders and wingers who are good at defending, work rate and cover a lot of field, on top of their technical and attacking abilities.
Which is exactly what De Jong does. He is great defensively and covers a lot of ground, while he is ALSO great technically, unlike Rakitic, for example. Xavi in his prime was also very good defensively and his movement without the ball both offensively and defensively was best in the world. But i get it, he's not a proper workhorse, because he was good at other things too therefore not good enough for BBZ standards and just a schoolboy. =]
I think he'll go to city, we'll probably get Rabiot this summer
But why? Even if we don't get DJ, why would we need this piece of shit? He isn't better than anything we already have.

He said 100 times that he likes Barca and want's to come here so I sincerely doubt he is going to City but newspapers need to sell trash over and over again.

At this point, I'm pretty sure he's quite overrated. Prime Busquets and Iniesta in one, according to some. Wanna know how his career turns out.

Well, here it begins.

Let's just start hating a player and tear him apart based on what some idiots on Twitter are saying.

Some of you lot just need an opportunity to call a player overrated despite him performing so well against good teams 9/10 times, and probably never having watched him for more than one game, but will find a million excuses to rationalize a shit attitude of a player like Rabiot and his continuous average performances and seemingly bad fit just because he plays regularly for PSG.

Well, so does Angel di Maria :) And guess what? He does very well. How many would want him at Barca?

People be complaining about the quality of the forum when every thread becomes a shit fest because of crap like this giving an opportunity for the obvious trolls doing their work.
