Muscle injuries, unfortunately, are the most recurring ones in sport. Bale for instance has had calf muscle problems in recent years.

Bale is the bad example of this, Messi has suffered many muscle injuries during his career (in 05/05 season, in 07/08 season, in 12/13 & in 13/14 , along ligament and Metatarsal injuries) , IIRC Iniesta and Alba suffered many muscle injuries b4. Bale is the extreme example tbh.And don't remember many who had such problems in very young age.

This injury is not a problem by itself. This isn't some serious injury, many of our players had similar or same one: Alba, Umtiti, Iniesta, Messi etc. Hamstring injuries are the most common injures in football. Major problem is that it happened immediately after the return and on the same leg. If this injury really isn't connected to the previous one than I see no reason to worry.

The thing is we all wanted to see him ASAP since he is so exciting to watch but now we have to wait for another 4 weeks. Also the fact that he didn't have a preseason with us doesn't help with his integration in our team.

Very fast players tend to be more injury prone. That's normal, look at Bale, Robben, Alba, Walcott they rely on pace much more so their muscles suffer a bit more.
Making conclusions if someone will or won't be injury prone based on two injuries is useless. What we should do is concentrate on his diet, exercises etc. so we minimize the risk of relapse and in the end we need to give him TIME to heal properly.

He should be ready for the return leg against Chelsea. To be fair in London we actually don't need him that much since we will for sure play more cautiously in the first leg.

Which is why you need to avoid getting them in the first place, particularly hamstring injuries for sprinters. Michael Owen springs to mind.

The biggest predictor of injuries is previous injuries.

Sometimes injuries are just bad luck. These were both easily avoidable.

We have been very lucky with injuries over the years. Didn't want to jinx it by saying it before but its a good time to admit now.

Barca-fans have been spoiled, indeed. It is quite normal to have injuries during the season. Our luck in having Pique and Mascherano nearly always during the last few years - back when only Bartra was a real backup, I must say that we were extremely lucky there.

Therefore we must not overreact here - minor injuries are very common, we are just not that used to them as other teams.

It's also a bit early to say that he's made of glass really. Did he ever get injured with Dortmund? Could just be really bad luck here. These type of injuries (pulled muscles) are also more common with younger players, if I'm not mistaken?

Hamstring injuries are common with football players of all age.

Yeah, but a good friend of mine who has played a lot of football told me that statistically younger players pull their muscles more often as muscles are a bit more fragile before you reach the physical peak of the mid and upper twenties. Of course, it could be that he was just speaking bro-science for all I know. :lol:

I don't know if that's true or not but there is also a fact that older players tend to work a lot more on their muscle flexibility and they for sure care much more about their physical condition in general. Unfortunately majority of us learn best from our own mistakes.

Look at his position during stretching in this pic. FFS this is how my grandpa would stretch. :lol:

He doesn't stretch his groin area this way, not even a bit. And he was stretching his hamstrings in the same way before the game against Getafe.

Compare him with Deulofeu and Alcacer (at least I think those are Deulofeu and Alcacer).

Yes especially ones with speed.
