This year Messi played basically almost on his 2015 levels.

Which is INSANE considering that:

- the team around him is MILES, MILES WORSE than before
- he is 4 years older and he is not eternal

What an unbelievable player, what a season he had.
Absolutely fantastic.

This team and this coach does not deserve him for the embarassing way they managed to completely destroy his effort.

CL top scorer
Liga top scorer
Golden boot
Potential Double (could have been Treble but this team is shite)
Shittons of assist
Shittons of dribblings
Shittons of freekicks

Almost 15 years playing on this level. Fantastic Leo Messi.
He surely also deserves 6th Balon D'Or.

Don't forget all the chances created as well. Many that werent put away like the four or five clear ones against liverpool

balon dor . number 6

If common sense prevails then yes, sadly it's a gloryfied UEFA Player of the Year, which pretty much means Van Dijk wins it if Liverpool beat Spurs in the final.

Messi needs to step up in the Copa, Argentina might be shit but he's the captain, walk about like he has done in every fucking big game over the last few years and he'll get the full brunt of critisim (rightly so). There's a fine line between bottling it and just being a lazy cunt, he sways to the latter far too often.

All his stats won't mean a shit if Lpool is UCL champ. VVD will be hyped as shit from the media and french to just to let PSG get revenge on Barca...

Messi needs Copa title. With that Arg squad it is a looooong shot.

EV fucked all up vs Lpool. This could have been a perfect season.

What do you want him to do. Run all over the pitch looking for the ball. Walking until the team gets the ball in and around him has worked well for him so far. He also makes good runs at the right time like he did today on a few occasions. He also chases and tackles players every now and again. He knows what he is doing and it's the right thing to do.

Let's hope Mbappè doesn't score 5 goals against Reims

IMHO this is maybe the best season Leo ever had! He was maybe faster when he was young but the things he did this year are out of this world. He basically single-handedly carried this team from the start of the season! It's not just about the way he scored goals or dribbled past players but he created almost everything good we did in the attack appart from that Real game when he was injured. Absolutely unbelievable season partially ruined by the rest of the team and that idiot on the bench.
