Barcelona have boosted their hopes of winning all three major trophies this season, thanks in large part to Lionel Messi.
The Argentine is back to his best in 2015, scoring hat-tricks and providing assists, as well as leading the team.

Things took a drastic turn at the beginning of the year, when the team was in dire straits both on and off the pitch. At the time, the press were talking about a bust-up between Messi and the manager, Luis Enrique, and no one was ruling out an early exit by the coach.
Today, Barcelona are the only team in with a chance of winning the Spanish league (which they lead), the Champions League (where they are clear favourites against Manchester City in the last 16) and the Copa del Rey (with a place in the final already secured).

Messi has rediscovered his origins at Barcelona and has found a 'new' position on the right flank from which to prove he is the 'ultimate player'. Not only is he scoring goals and providing assists, but he is also helping the side build up the play and offering his team leadership just when they need it the most.
Barça appear to be delighted with Messi's new-found form after his figures for last season were somewhat more modest than has generally been the case during his career.

This is one record Leo will never get simply because modern football doesn't allow him too. Unless he plays till he is 37-40 and racks up on goals every season somehow. To be honest I do see Leo playing in a Pirlo/Totti role if he is older. His technical abilities won't let him down no matter what age.

The only one that matters on the list is gerd mullers record, the rest above that are for inconsequential teams.
And messi could still top it anyway, at his current rate it would take less than 4 seasons, if he slows down 5 or 6.

Funny, because I was really thinking the same thing. Messi winning the treble and wanting to leave with a big stage. I am really afraid he will join Chelsea. Anto is best friends with that milf from Cesc and I am pretty sure that they are doing everything in their power to have him in London.

We've already been through this. Financially impossible/ridiculous for anyone to buy him.

Won't go for anything less than his buyout clause because of the elections. Can you imagine what would happen to a president that got voted in and then sold Leo and then there is the problem of his huge wages.

Overall the deal would cost about 100m a season over 5 years. And don't give me the 'Adidas will pay it' bullshit because we might be changing kit deals when our deal with Nike runs out (depending on the offer) so why would they want to pay ridiculous sums of money to buy Leo for Chelsea if they could offer us 50m as a kit deal?

Edit: Can't believe its this discussion again simply because Messi went to Harrods

He went to casino in London with Cesc, Anto and Daniella.

Messi to become addicted to gambling and lose all his money :coffee:

Also still don't think we have a chance of winning CL, and I fear we will do some stupid slip up in La Liga at some point and give it back to Real.

Messi has said again and again that he doesn't want to leave in interviews not long ago. He's building a family in Barcelona, and recently signed Thiago up for a school if I'm not wrong? And lastly, he looks very happy and content in Barca now, with the friendships and good vibes in the team looking stronger than I can recall seeing in a long time.

So he goes to London when they have a few days off to meet up with Cesc, an old friend. Completely understandable. But fans start fearing that this means he will join Chelsea.

Yeah, no. Just no.

I think that's probably a really important point. Messi seems to love his family more than anything in the world and I'm guessing he would want Thiago to be settled in one place instead of moving him from place to place every 5 seconds. I doubt Chelsea would keep him after his shelf life like we would, so they could potentially sell him on (to make up for an astronomical investment).

That would mean quite a few moves for Thiago in only a couple of years during crucial stages of his development. Doubt he would want that for the kid.

Yup, and it seems Messi and Suarez are getting along extremely well, with Antonella and Suarez' wife and children watching the game against Rayo together. I mean, didn't Suarez buy a house right next to Messi?

In the training videos, they are constantly walking and talking together. It's a big friendship in the making, they are both around the same age, both families have children that can become friends. These things do matter, Messi is settling in Barcelona. Uprooting everything and moving to a different country would be very difficult even if he himself wanted it, something he clearly doesn't at all.

It's scare tactics & pessimistic rumours looking to unsettle fans and bring hype to the delusional.

As you guys have nailed it on the head there's no need for me to be an echo lol it's obvious he's sticking. Players aren't allowed to travel. Blind visited Barcelona last summer on holiday and a lot of people were up in arms saying he's signing for Barça but instead went to Man U. Unless I missed something I don't believe Barça even sat him down what so ever.
