oh the Ciliessen deal has to be one of the worst deals in this club's recent history. You're right, in comparison, this deal looks great.
I just think we could've gotten at least 10m more. But, its better than a swap deal like the Cillessen deal for sure.

Just Barto being a genius like usual. Close such a horrible deal that everything in comparison looks like a stroke of genius.

Just glad he doesn't somehow come back  Not a bad price considering he was useless for Barca and everyone knew it.

Decent price imo. It's funny, everyone here says we suck at selling, but when you look on a Madrid forum they all say the same thing about their club. Fact is, big clubs are always under pressure to make new signings so they're never in a great bargaining position to ship out the deadwood. Thank god he's gone anyway.

Now official. Gomes to Everton for 25m + variables.
We should've gotten a lot more for him but our board is stupid as fuck so no surprises there.

How the hell should you get more than that for a player you don't want??? No to mention he was shit for us and little less shit for Everton, he is also on a big salary and he is definitely not worth that money. It's simple, no one offered more and no one else wanted him so it was the only way. Just deal with it.

This is what Adversus who is an Everton fan and watches their games has to say about Gomes

Gomes was good for Everton. His stats weren't great but that didn't tell the whole story. He allowed us to dominate the midfield (along with Gueye) of a lot of the so called top teams with his ability to hold the ball in tight spaces and play through the press.

Happy to have him back.

Now combine that with the fact that English clubs love to throw money left right and center and imo it's just a bad deal and we could have gotten 10m more as abbbs mentioned.

But then again Gomes was only there because he is completely useless for Barca. That's not exactly a great position for negotiations.

Barca isn't known as the best selling club and the board does a lot of dumb stuff but i doubt that it was that easy to get much more for Gomes.

There are also add ons and Everton already paid for the 1 year loan. If it adds up to around 30M i think thats fine.

Whoever complains when they manage to get 40M for Llorente and 20M for Mayoral, is delusional at best. For comparison, we got exactly 1M for Munir, terminated Samper's contract, they're fair comparisons to those two. Not to mention getting less for Gomes, who is so much more widely known internationally and had a great season with Everton, and we still managed to get 15M less. Amazing incompetence.

To be fair Llorente is better than Samper. People are unhappy about the price Barca sell their La Masia flops for but the truth is that our Masia doesn’t produce many good talents and most of them are overrated by Barca fans.

That being said the way Barca are handling Jasper is awful and Gomes could have gone for more.
