Lionel Messi - v7

Large part of Serghei's criticism on Messi is valid, but in Anfield he created 4 or 5 clear-cut chances (most in the first half) that his teammates badly missed.
He did his part at least there

True words.
There is a systematic problem within the club in away games for almost a decade and half.

What do you think is the root of the problem?

You will see that the moment both Messi and Suarez are gone we will start to press more and we will be harder to score against. It's football basics. The better you press, the harder for the opponent to build attacks.

If you have players who don't do any defense, it's harder to defend well. Again, basic football principle. The days when some defend and some attack are over. Today you do both, or suffer the consequences, the last of which is exactly what we did, year after year.

Barca parking the bus, that's sounds great

Best if you ignore him. He thinks he's smarter than he is.

He is a PRO keyboard manager analyst football pundit. Imagine he's giving advice on what PRO players should do specially on Messi and talking about basics. 😆

And he actually is clueless 90% of the time. Many armchair "managers" on this forum. That's what you get when you think FIFA is the real life.

Of course he did something. Any attacking player at a Barca/Bayern/Madrid starter level will create chances. I didn't say he didn't play. I was referring to decisive contributions. Isn't he the greatest scorer in our history? Where are his goals, the most important thing in football?

So why you keep on posting that he should defend more when it's scoring goals is the most important ? Imagine you want Messi to score, create chances and now demand him to defend too, what's next he should help the GK ? And where are the hype midfielders and young players can they create chances for Messi to score or again Messi should create his chances

And forgetting the other 10 players... he is not alone on the pich.
And the 4-0 vs Liverpool.... 3 RIDICULOUS mistakes by the defence.
Main reason why we loose is because we have Messi on the pitch, i can t believe it😂

This, he is blaming Messi for not defending and he's blaming Messi for not scoring 😆 If the overrated GK captain material just show up and play atleast half of what Neur they're In, and of course the defenders didn't fck up at the same time in one game

Maybe he should blame Dembele for missing an open net in the first leg. Seemed like a joke when you win the game 3-0, but the joke was on Barca.

That 3-0 was a joke result,a fluke result that came from luck and having the best player in the world in God mode.Liverpool were clearly the better side on Camp Nou too.

so if dembele converted both chances to make it 5-0, would it have been a comprehensive beating or still joke result?

fact is we didn't concede and scored 3, without any penalty or refereeing decision to influence the result. how does that make liverpool the better side that night?

Folk go over the top about both legs. They were more even than is made out.

The xG was something like 4-4 across both games.

Barca were not 3-0 better than Liverpool in first leg and Liverpool were not 4-0 better in second. Fairly even but Barca made more individual errors.

Would not quite say Messi was in god mode in that first leg either. He was very good and FK was unreal but Barca were 1-0 up due to Alaba and Suarez and then the second was Messi tap in when Suarez hits woodwork.

Hitting out at the club again in his recent Instagram posting.

Players fighting the board won't be the environment for a successful season. Koeman faces a tough task.

I also thought Messi was 'only' very good but then I saw his highlights on youtube. He was really in GOAT-Mode.
