You the energy to make excuses for FDJ " The main reason why he's been disappointing is that the fitness level of the team in these 14 months since he signed has been usually way lower than his own." Ain't this applicable to Messi and all other amigos too, or you will blame Messi changed the fitness program of Barca for his so called amigos

This is actually a very valid point but you're right he'll most likely say it's only been like that because of managers bending over for Messi and the amigos. It's basically a pointless battle. If you find something that is the fault of the board/manager/other players it's spun into somehow actually being Messi's fault.

Already said it here , when you take his stats in a vacuum they are still great. When you look at the complete picture they aren't imo. The amount things you sacrifice on the pitch is not worth the output (especially post covid).

Even about his goals:
= remove free kicks and penaldos

And then you just get a lot of walking, tactical mess, a goal from an open play here and there.

I tried to check La liga matches now, apparently in 19 La liga matches last season from January-August, he scored a goal from an open play on 4 matches:
1:0 Granada
5:0 vs Eibar, 4 goals lol
4:0 vs Mallorca, goal for 4:0 in the 93rd minute
5:0 Alaves, last round, a friendly match, 2 goals

All other goals were penaldos and iirc 1 free kick.
In a CL, he scored 1 goal vs Napoli (3:1) in 3 CL matches.

When we add 3 La liga matches from this season, that means that in the last 25 matches, Messi scored from an open play on 5 nights.
Which means that his current goalscoring rate is: he will score from an open play in 1 in 5 matches.

Not to mention that he didn't score a single goal against any stronger team in 2020.
Except Napoli, who are hardly a top team.

When you dig deeper, like me in this post, his goal stats are atrocious lately.

But when you just look at stats (4 goals against Eibar and numerous penaldos) then you get:
13 goals, 25 matches
Which looks ok

But again, all goals were statpading against Eibar and Alaves in 5:0 trashings.
And other goals are penaldos, 1 free kick, 93rd minute goal against Mallorca for 4:0 and decent goals vs Napoli and Granada.

A lot of our fans would surely whine: why didn't Messi won Ballon D Or, lol.
PR machine is hating Messi.

5 good matches and 20 nights of walking in 25 matches.

The heavy criticism is also somewhat warranted from this angle. When we were dominating European football, we had other all time greats like Xavi, Iniesta, Alves who took a backseat to Messi in terms of praise. Messi got the lion's share of the credit and yes, he mostly deserved it (Although I happen to think it's a bit inflated as both him and CR7 are beneficiaries of an immensely talented club roster in their heyday in addition to their own greatness, which shows in their combined 0 KO goals in WCs over the last 15 years). It's only fair he takes the lion's share of the criticism when he's not performing well outside of low-mid tier teams the last few months.

Silence has entered the chat

wait a bit. the amount of shit he's writing in every post takes a while to squeeze out.

probably the guy watches 2 hours of porn and counts it as fucking. it is the same for these so called analyses he churns out

Last season he scored the only goal (open play) away to Atletico Madrid

He scored the only goal (open play) in a 1-0 to Granada who had a good season finishing 7th.

Scored the only goal (penalty) against Real Sociedad who had a good season finishing 6th.

Scored a penalty vs Atletico at home which made it 2-1, game finished 2-2.

Also scored vs teams that had good seasons finishing 4th-8th but they weren't game deciding goals so I won't include them. This list doesn't even look at assists and already you can see he's showed up to a decent degree against the bigger la liga teams last year.

Fully expecting someone to write "ROFL you can't include Granada and Real Sociedad, hur durr...." but why not? They had really good seasons. Should we not include Leicester as a decent prem team now because they don't have a huge history?

His goals and assists last season directly contributed to 31 points.

2e most of his career in La Liga (after 2012-13).

So most of his goals and assists last season absolutely crucial.

I am not sure why are you counting penaldos as some achievement?

Rakitic would have scored an equal or higher number of goals from penaldos than Messi.

About Atletico 0:1, I said: year 2020.

I didn't whine about Messi in 2019, except about his away CL matches displays.

But since 2020, even his La liga form declined massively.

Scored on 4 out of last 22 La liga nights from an open play.

You can't blame the team or coaches.
Everyone is passing to him.
Teammates are neglecting other players in better positions.
He is neglecting teammates in better positions.
He can shoot whenever he wants.
Plus, La liga is weaker than ever.

And when you sum it all, he scored on 4 matches out of last 22 La liga matches in 2020.

Suarez scored on 6 different matches.
Fati with limited minutes on 6 different matches.

One more time: the whole team works for him.
His return of investment in 2020 is more or less not worth all the investment (all balls passed to him).

Again, imagine if any random player took all of his penalties, free kicks and if he were allowed to take 5 shots per match (let's say Fati, Suarez, Coutinho, Vidal, Griezz) and if all teammates were looking for him all the time.

A lot of them would have similar numbers.
Suarez and Fati would have better numbers with all penalties and free kicks taken.
