Jean-Clair "who needs positioning" Todibo at Nice so far.

Contract up in 2023. Let's leave him another year in France perhaps.

Looks like the CB partnership with the other loanee Saliba is set for Nice for the remainder of the season.

Participated in 6 games so far:
3 games with 90 min played.
3 yellow cards.
1 clean sheet
3 wins, 3 losses

At least his situation is looking better in 2 ways compared to Benfica and Schalke:
1. He actually gets to play
2. He seems to be able to play 90 minutes and not be dead tired in the second half.

Next step is to actually put in good performances.

Might come good who knows. I think people forget (including myself) that a CB rarely bursts onto the scene, it's a much more experienced-based role. Van Dijk is the obvious candidate to explain this. Only excellent from age 25/26? Plenty of other examples too.

Why shouldn't he feel bitter, he's never really gotten a chance to be played at Barca - instead treated like a commodity

Sounds like he's not interested. Like, at all.

Prolly has every PSG themed item in his closet :valverde:

He has every right to be pissed but those are not the smartest things to say, considering he has contract with us until 2023 and he might return this summer, with Nice paying zero loan fee and just his salary (?).

Those statements add to the rumours of him having not having the best mentality. Seems like the opposite of Araujo.

Ah, I retract my previous "maybe he'll come good post" lmao. Guy's a baby. How many footballers get to wear the barca shirt for even one match. It should be an honour for him and if not chosen he should do everything to get back into the squad. Loaning him to Benfica was a great place on paper. Portugal's a nice place, league is low enough quality so he should be able to break into the team. Now he's at Nice, there's worse places in the world to be than Southern France. Honestly can we just not sign anymore French players for the next decade at least.

These posts are whiny bitch bitching. He's not entitled to anything. He didn't even have anything in his portfolio that warrants a clear chance in the first team. He had hardly played professional football prior to being acquired by Barca so he should be very happy that this even happened. I hate whiny bitches and these kind of players usually have loser mentality on field so this sends bad signals. Maybe it's just immaturity, but still. There are young players that are passed by and don't whine, but silently work their asses off and don't complain about their limited position in team.

They like to give up a lot. Seems that we should avoid french and portuguese players. There's always some problems with mentality. Last decent frenchie we had was Guily. He had some fighting spirit despite being quite mediocre overall. Maybe Napoleon complex helped, because he was so small. :) And last good portugese Figo. (Deco a brazilian)

There's a combined number of about 20~ certified world class players of French and Portuguese origins within the past 20 years or so. About 2 or so of them ended up on our team, and one of them was past their prime. Several of the best players in the world are of either Portuguese or French origin. Pick a combined France and Portugal XI, replace them with our current squad and we'd be the best team in the world. The countries aren't the issue, the scouting network within these countries for this club and squad building is.

Shit like "stop going for French players" is so unbelievably stupid. Griezmann was world class in Atletico, he's not with us, because we require #9s and second strikers to play in a way that's antithetical to his style of play in Atletico. From Eto'o, Villa, Messi, and Suarez; they all presented immense individual ability to play make, drive the ball, be versatile, and take the game for themselves. Whereas with Griezmann, his optimal style of play requires him to consistently play off others, he needs to have a specific role with limited versatility, he lacks speed and dribbling ability.

There is no curse or jinx, there's nothing wrong with the players coming from these countries; the club just needs to do a better job of finding the best players suitable to the squad's needs.
