Some perspective on why messi likes EV

Messi has worked with a lot of coaches and he has the ability to "see" on the pitch - better than any coach does.
I don't think he likes EV.
I'm almost sure he knows better than anyone else, how mediocre and useless EV is as a strategist.

At the same time he also knows if another coach came, and building of a new team would start, it would burn up his max 2-3 years as an active player.
Probably he doesn't have the access energy or willpower for that.

He has won everything and those trophies he did not, are with his national team.
Possibly he wants to do the thing he likes the most: scoring goals and that makes him happy.
Many players in this phase of their carriers are instinctively against radical changes, regardless if they were aware of the shortcomings of a coach...

If Messi wanted EV would be out. We can conclude from him staying that he prefers to be confortable in a familiair setting playing with his friends over ruthless ambition to win trophies an increase his legacy.
In this case it might hurt barca badly post messi since we cant propery prepare a transition phase.

Will never get over how these spineless melts couldn't finish his chances created and couldn't defend 3 goal lead. Now I want to lose copa so at least EV could fuck off, but then Messi doesn't get ballon dor. In the end everything always turns against Messi...

One of the games most cursed players.

His career will be remembered as a tragedy for what he didn't win as much as what he did.

Ritchie, he wasn';t cursed at the beginning of the career. It seems everything he touched turned to gold.

Very strange for him to just get injured random like that. 'Discomfort in the thigh' - sounds made up if you ask me. Barca fans have been so dismissive of the Copa I wouldn't be surprised if he thinks. 'Well if the fans can't be arsed, why should i?':messi:

He's still the most talented and probably best player ever so far, but he's disappointed too many times on the big stage to be the equivalent of someone like Michael Jordan or Tom Brady as undisputed GOAT in his sport.

He definitely had the ability to reach that status, but he just doesn't seem as driven and obsessed as most other elite athletes.

Even in the Liverpool match, I wouldn't blame him for the defeat, but I still feel like he wasn't doing everything within his power to get us over the line. If someone told him that a member of his family would die if Liverpool got through, would he still have walked around instead of pressing or moving open for a pass, would he still have just stood with his head down instead of trying to motivate the other players, would he still not yell at Valverde to make some damn changes at half time or earlier than he did?

Plenty of our players were worse than Messi, but their failings seem more down to lack of athleticism and ability. If you offered Busquets, Rakitic, and Suarez each a threesome with Gal Gadot and Margot Robbie if we won, they would still have been shit because they're shit in most matches nowadays. With Messi, it seems like he could easily do more to help us win in certain matches if he was motivated enough to.

He knows his limits and running around too much is just going to ruin other parts of his game. He has won plenty mostly walking in games so it's what he feels is the best thing to do

Most players had to have that winner instinct, extremely driven never-give-up type of personality to make it to the top. Even Ronaldo used to stay hours after training practicing free kicks. Leo was born with superior talent to anyone and never had to fight like most other players had. So he's not gonna bring forth that mentality when needed since he doesn't have it in him. No fault, he's probably just like most normal persons except born with extraordinary footballing talents
