Lautaro Martinez

He is impulsive like a kid.

Argentina loses = he quits.
Later he comes back.

Barca loses 8:2 = he wants to leave for a better team.

Barca concedes in a CL for 0:1 = he sulks like a little kid.

Imagine benching him in March against Getafe and waiting for his impulsive reaction in upcoming weeks.

When Lucho benched him and Neymar, those two were causing problems right away.

He is an amazing, out of this world.
But his personality and reactions aren't ordinary either, imo.

BBZ is right on this one.

He was in the press this year saying he wants to stay.

If he was telling Barto all year he wants to go then also goes against the idea he did not want to activate clause by tenth June as would disrupt season.

Messi could have told them by 10th he wanted to go and still change his mind or he could have asked for an extension to clause.

Came across in that interview as telling his own version of events that doesnt seem realistic.

Yes, maybe he's lying maybe not. For me he's telling the truth.

I hope that Bartomeu gives his own version sooner or later

I think Messi might have told Barto that he would consider his future at the end of the season to which Barto agreed. However, the idea that Messi had officially decided on leaving early on and just trusted Barto to let him go for free is quite hard to believe.

This whole argument about the 10th is unconvincing and kind of presumptuous.
Again, people like to fantasize about meticulously calculated actions on the motives of rational agents , whereas in fact people act very differently from rational robots.
What if Messi tells the simple truth that Barcelona was in all competitions and he wanted to conclude the season, thinking probably (mistakenly of course) that a CL can be won?
What if he did not even know that the clause specifies a date by which he should inform the board and had always in his mind 'the end of the season'?

About telling Barto the whole season that he will be gone, none of us knows what was said exactly behind closed doors.
It does not look unlikely to me that Messi could have said to Barto a couple of times that he sees it difficult staying for another season, and Barto as a cunning devious prick that he is reassured him that he has the freedom to decide when the season ends, knowing full well himself that he can manipulate Messi around the formal legalities of the contract.

I don't think this is how it went. Messi probably pisst off that his beloved lazy coach got fired (We all know this for a fact), told Barto he isn't happy and would like to leave. Barto knowing that Messi and his amigos backed Valverde every season, and Messi has the tendency to overreact when things don't go his way, thought rightfully what Messi said about leaving related more with Valverde not the club, so didn't take what he said seriously, neither did Messi otherwise we could have heard any rumors of him linked to City or any other club.

Not that it means much, but the guy seems to be having one hell of a preseason. Will be interesting if he can keep the form he had for the first half of last season for an entire season.

ℹ️ @gerardromero reports that Barcelona is back for Lautaro Martinez! He?s generally very reliable, so let?s see. In Italy, it was said that his agents and Inter will meet again after the window to discuss about a renewal. Once there?s more confirmation, will update y?all! 🇦🇷
