No, this is not my point. Even if he was injured, they had badstuber in their squad = 4 CBs.
The fast that they also had Boateng, Dante and Van Buyen shows that depth is more than important when you want to win all the trophies, particularly if one of your defender gets injured (Badstuber in that case)
