Seydou Keita

It's obvious Barca didn't want him no more and odds are Keita wanted to move too (for more playing time, more money, no matter).
Point is Barca shouldn't be giving away their players like that.
Any squad player would "deserve" to leave like that if Keita did so.

'Giving away' a player at 32 1/2.

You act like he was in his prime.

Treat players like human beings and not commodities and will get more out of them.

The minimal fee that would have been gotten for a player that had done so much and behaved so well made it worthwhile to let him decide his own future.

It was worse with Villa, but I guess they wanted to get rid of his massive salary.

You are making it sound as if he's Puyol or Xavi.

Yeah, by all means. Give in to player demands. Who gives a damn whats best for the club. What's best for a player is important.

So true, Real selling players like Albiol for 10M, Granero for 7, Pedro Leon for 5 while Barca constantly sell players for free/peanuts.

They could have got more money for Villa if insisted on selling him to EPL team. Prob another 5/6m.

But they found a deal with Atletico as thats where Villa wanted to end his top flight career.

It was a nod to the professional way he conducted himself when big money moves were on the table for him in that January. Where had he kicked up a fuss about wanting to leave it would have put the club in a hard spot.

It's because players wanted to go there and there, you know. Who gives a feck what's best for Barca. No spine but what to expect from spineless board.

True. Barça is not welfare. Just look at the Fabregas deal. How on earth did we sell him for 33M? A world class player.

That's why he almost injured himself celebrating a goal vs. Barca.

What relevance does that have?

He acted in a professional way in that January when he was not playin and big money moves came in. Barca appreciated that.

Has no link whatsoever to him celebrating against Barca or otherwise.

Good on him for celebrating against Barca, doesnt bother me at all.

Yeah, we should build him a monument for not being a prick and demanding transfer in January.
When was the last time Barca player did that btw.?

Barca bent over for Villa and Atleti just like they did for others.

You clearly see the players as nothing but pound signs, a lot of the success of Barca has been because they treat players better than that.

What if Villa just refused to go anywhere but Atletico?

He could well have done that anyway.

The alternative was Villa staying and having a massive wage improvement. In a way, Villa forced the club to do what he wanted.

Sure he could. And Zubi could do nothing because he was an inept moron.
Things rolled that way under Rosell's mannequin.

And neither Keita nor Villa are Barca legends. So stop the violins.

Btw. Even Bart thought Zubi was a f.ck-up but you obviously have every apology for the retard.

That clause about player minutes is one of the worst thing Zubi has done .
1st Keita leave for free ,and that was the reason for the Song situation .Tito said he wanted a CB and all of sudden Kieta leaves and we are after a DM instead
then Thiago having same clause and leaving
I mean this was moronic to say at least ,you are basically asking the coach to alter his coaching if he wants a player to stay or sold with higher price

You change the argument every single time you post.

Your trying to just change this to a Zubi debate now.

In isolation the club did little wrong in the Villa/Keita cases and treated the players properly and lost out on very little money.
