Ya ....I do not think it was neck to neck. Messi's run is far more impressive considering the current Argentinian squad....But Zidane had a far superior and much more experienced team, with the likes of Thierry Henry, Vieira mackalele etc.

I really do not have a problem with Busquets staying this season if he can accept a bench role like Xavi did his last season with us. He simply does not have the legs to play a high energy press which a 4-3-3 demands and hence should not be a starter in any of the major games for us going ahead...

Ya he was a bit hard to watch in the final season after the winter break..But not even close to Suarez awful. He still scored more than 30 goals back then, also scored in the Champions league including the final.

If i remember, Eto'o got forced out by Pep (who had a feeling and then went on to buy Ibrahimovic instead :lol:), despite having a pretty good year overall as compared to Suarez who has been awful for quite a while now. Hell, he won a Champions league the next year too after leaving us.

I see Rakitic going and maybe Suarez as the best case for us while wasting the next few months again on some shiny new toy like Neymar. While the base of our system Pique, Busquets, Alba etc all continue to stay and stink up the joint.

My two cents would be yes we need to phase Messi out but getting rid of him right now is just counter productive. He can still be very good with the right set up. But we need 10 hardworking players around him, not like-minded others who dont work hard either like Suarez, Rakitic, Busquets, Pique...

You mean the goal makes his performance slightly shit instead because otherwise.. I read somewhere he had 24 ball touches in total all game, of which 9 were because of the 8 goals Bayern scored and one for the kick off :rockon:

At the moment, as long as he is president, we are just going to get a couple more shiny new toys while the Amigos are still there, maybe Rakitic gets sold at this point to appease the fans but the likes of Pique, Busquets etc. will continue to be here and continue the bad training/fitness...

The problem was not so much as not playing these, rather his insistence on playing the Amigos & favorites all the time (especially the dreaded and quite awful midfield) despite them being shit most of the time. It is not wrong to call out when the same starting 11 put out there by the coach...
