Not that much players that are as versatile as Ayoub. Certainly a name to remember, because he's together with Sergi Samper & Lee Seung Woo in my personal top-3 of La Masia players.

Sounds like he will be quite the useful and great player in the future. There are not many who have that pure all round package.

How come Sandro isn't in your top 3 masia players? He seems quite like the old-school no BS number 9. He has that charm that shows he isn't just another one of those "future star Messi dribbling prodigies" who are all alike and rarely ever succeed.

To me it feels like it's the strikers that never succeed. Bojan, Rochina, Pacheco (not really a striker), Etock etc.

Although Icardi seems to be on his way to making it!

Cadete A is a rather talented generation. I personally see Ayoub and Sergi Canos as the two biggest prospects of that team. Ayoub as versatile midfielder (despite his young age already the best in that team) and Sergi Canos predominantly as deep lying striker or as rightwinger. Can basically play on both positions. He not a rightwinger like Adama Traoré or Alexis Meva, but he's technically better & has a better ball control instead of the high pace of Adama Traoré and Alexis Meva. So that's a nice advantage: we have several types of rightwingers in our cantera. I would call it the high pace classical wingers (Adama Traoré and Alexis Meva) and more the technically modern winger who can play also as deep lying striker (Sergi Canos). My story on Ayoub is known.. wrote it somewhere above here. My favorite of the team.

Behind these two cracks, there are several guys with an above average talent compared to the rest of the team. That's the group with: Alexis Meva, Josimar, Anas and Chendri. Difficult to rate them, but they are definitely above the team average, but not as exceptional as Ayoub & Sergi Canos. Alexis Meva as classical rightwinger with a high pace (just like Adama Traoré, but a bit less talented imo). Josimar together with Ayoub the leader on the midfield. Technically superb this guy. Especially the attacking 5 players of Cadete A is a rather talented group of players.

Supposedly one of the most talented teams in the youth setup but they're not really dominating as you'd expect them to.

I'd be interested in the success rate of these players who leave their clubs (and not just Barca) to join teams in the Premier League. Off the top of my head I can only think of Anelka and Fabregas (maybe Rafael) as the ones who have been a storming success. Man Utd currently have Macheda, Petrucci and Bebe , whose careers have all stalled, so maybe moving clubs at such a young age, might not be in best interests of these players and their long term development.

Yeah, MD did a profile on the player last year...The club is pretty upset about having this talent poached away...Not sure why the club isn't lobbying UEFA about uniformity towards professional contracts and preventing this sort of skirting of National laws to steal talent

Am I wrong in thinking that Platini was/is looking into the prospect of banning international transfers, for the players under the age of 17/18?

Oh, well I've mostly based it on what I've heard offered by teams like City, Chelsea and Arsenal. Supposedly Toral/Bellerín earn about 200 000/year, although the numbers aren't made official so it's a bit difficult to say. I found one article where ALL youth players were paid exactly 1000 pounds per week, but it's probably a bit more as the author admitted that he only guessed based on the total wage bill of the club, and he still had a few million he couldn't account for.

I came to inform you that if the rumors are correct, then you were right and I was wrong. The rumored wage he's being offered is 15k/week, which is a ridiculous sum of money for an academy player. I believe Suso and Sterling received 20k/week this year, both have played on the first team, and as mentioned before Sterling was on 300 pounds per week prior to turning 18. We are desperately in need of a RW (Downing isn't ideal) so do you think that if the rumored 15k/week is true that we could possible be planning on using him on the first team? Do you think he could be ready for that?

I would like to add that in my personal opinion he still wouldn't leave just for the money, and rather for playing time or perhaps something else. But you were entirely right, if the rumor is true, that he is going to receive a significant wage increase.
