Puyol the wall

Actually, Ozil did the same thing last year in the Supercup if I'm not mistaken. But it was Ozil, so nobody really cared..if it would have been Cristiano or even our Busi the forum would have probably exploded.

I, for one, felt really ashamed when Messi did that..and for me that is far worse than Busi's ocasional dives.
I remember Rio doing it against Liverpool and it hit an old lady he asked forgiveness immediately, its and instant reaction when you are frustrated thats it if it had hurt someone I am sure Messi would have asked forgiveness.

After reading your take on this. Its not hard to gather that you guys are biased and big Messi fan boys/girls are present here. :p
Personally, I was a little bit hurt and let down when Messi did that. Guess, everybody has a limit to tolerance.

I wonder what would you think if it would have been Busi or CR7 instead..

Thats something to ponder about.
CR7 would have been slaughtered by Barça fans and Busi would have been slaughtered by non-Barça fans. :p

It is funny how terribly biased this forum is. Had it been anyone from Real Madrid doing that, people here would be choking of anger.

It was a dick move by messi, no defending it. Gladly, he very rarely does these things.

+100

who cares if he shot the ball to the supporters or the boards. It's a rivaling match and he is still human and less "explosive" then all the other players combined on the pitch.

Why the discussion? :D

It's quite unfair to compare such different eras. Scoring was really easier back then, football was a different sport. The sao paulo Série A1 is weak today, back then was even weaker. Teams were amateur-ish. Everything is really different today.

Recognition for Leo Messi’s extraordinary performances continues to pour in. North American media organisation ESPN has included the Barça number 10 on the shortlist for the ESPYS award for best international athlete. The other three candidates are footballer Cristiano Ronaldo, tennis player Novak Djokovic and Taiwanese golfer Yani Tseng.

Messi has been nominated for “his quickness, agility and artistry with the ball”, which makes him “one of the most dominant players in soccer today”, as the text accompanying his candidacy describes him. It continues, "He became the first player in history to score five goals in a single Champions League match and scored 50 goals in 36 games for Barcelona in La Liga".

Winners announced 11th July

The winners of the various categories will be announced on 11th July during the ESPYS awards ceremony. Sportspeople such as Albert Pujols, Roger Federer, Lorena Ochoa and Usaint Bolt are previous winners of the award.

Oh come on you are comparing a pre historic person who played when players didn't know football to a player who is doing it all when Football is a professional sport.

just because you weren't born yet and that they didn't have HDTV coverage of every match played doesn't mean people didn't know how to play football or that it wasn't a professional sport.
