Pep's entire coaching style is very Italian. True to Barcelona philosophy but he is tremendously Italian in his tactic set-ups, before and during the game.

Franco Ferrari (the former head of Italian football’s technical HQ Coverciano): “In Italy we just look to the result, we don’t care how we obtained it, it’s all about the result…it’s not a question of playing well or building a base for the future, you have to win.”
I think Pep always wants to win, but I'd hardly call his style Italian.

Estranged, you can fuck the right off. Dumb ass.

Sumo, I was replying to those who were saying Pep would move to England, by that he'd move to Italy before he would move to England. His coaching style is very Italian because his system is detail oriented, built from the defense forward. The amount of times Barcelona change their tactics is classic Italian coaching in that the game rarely finishes with the same tactical formation or with the same players. He likes to construct a team that is flexible enough to respond to the game's needs, and rigid enough to maintain its composure and rhythm. That is something Mourinho had to deal with in Italy and was actually annoyed with, a lot of coaches would change formations on him and he had to adapt his teams more than 2-3 times a match. He complained about it and wasn't too fond of it.

Pep spent 2-3 years in Italy, barely playing but I am sure he picked up a few things from there. Especially his very first year, his entire defensive line was straight up Italian. The way Busquets would drop in the middle, Puyol out wide and Abidal rarely making runs forward. Always had four players in the back, which was spectacular. You pretty much play the same way not, but Pep changed it, because he has better defenders in Pedro/Asexis/Villa than with Thierry Henry and Ibrahimovic. So he can afford to use Abidal for width, along with Alves, playing three at the back.

All while keeping true to Barcelona's philosophies. I was not saying Pep would just win anyways. The intricate inter-play between the Barcelona players is something Neymar would have to understand and employ to succeed, otherwise it would be a career suicide to move there (not that Madrid are any better).

Raed your wasting your time here, most people here see "Italian football" and reflexively think "HURP DURP BORING 1-0"

There was actually an article when Pep first became coach about how the Italian game influenced him, he actually said his period in Italy, despite being a failure play wise, was a big part of how he learned to coach.

But of course Pep must be trolling or just stupid, because HURP DURP 1-0

Successor to SAF or Wenger. You heard it here first (and probably last).

I doubt it. I dont think Pep likes all the pressure and scrutiny that comes with being a manager of a big club. He'll relax for 2 years with his family and then choose a smaller club for his comeback. After that he may take on a high pressure job but he wont quit Barca and then move immediately to a club like Arsenal or Man U. Maybe 10 years down the track but not now.....

Neymar is an absolutely amazing player. That game against Scotland was like watching Messi. with a dash of Ronaldinho. People will say it was just Scotland to try and belittle him, but it was an amazing performance.

I'm not sure Santos will have enough of the ball for Neymar to be able to show how truly great he is though.

It's 0-0 for teams 5-20 in the league.

He's not being allowed to play, don't judge him for a match. Especially against Barça, it's not fair to the kid.

Needs to come to europe before the WC as tim vickery has been saying, kids got amazing talent, but the level of football is south american and brazil though it is rising isn't up to standards yet
