Think you're being way too harsh. We have far bigger problems than him. Stegen is one of the few in this squad that can be a starter for most other world class teams in Europe. Can you say the same for the other players you mentioned?

Dude, he can't even get a sniff at starting for Germany at the prime age of 28 against a 35 year old Neuer.

This tells you all you need to know.

He's genuinely the worst CL keeper in the last 5 years. No top team is going to touch him.

Genuine question, can you name the world class teams he would start for. I can think of there being about 3 world class teams at the moment, he wouldn't start for any of them

Ter Stegen > Navas, Ter Stegen > Allison (in current form), Ter Stegen >Sczesny/Buffon, Ter Stegen > Kepa, and maybe Ter Stegen > Courtois

Not a good argument as Neuer is still a top-3 GK in the world. I agree that Stegen is fragile mentally and needs to go if a good offer comes though.

Neuer is to me the greatest keeper of this generation, no way he is starting for Germany. Also keepers can play well into their late 30's/early 40's.

I'd say he's equal to Navas and Sczesny. Allison far better imo, he's had a few bad games. Chelsea aren't a world class team, nor are Juve tbh. Courtois is better than Stegen too imo

And if Ter-Stegen was as good as some people say he is, then he would at least get a chance at Germany.

I've said it a hundred times on here before anyway: Germany will skip Ter-Stegen. They will play Neuer until he is 40 and another top Germany goalkeeping talent comes into light to take the top

They will never give a mentally fragile player like Ter-Stegen the position.

You know I really don't think he is the problem. Don't forget that 18/19 season where he single handedly saved us for a couple LL matches.

He is just the easiest scapegoat for people who don't know what's going on or are on a rant, because for obvious reasons the goalkeeper is the only one who is always involved in some way if you concede a goal. Look at that raedkuwait guy. He is one of the most clueless guys on the forum. After every game he comes to this thread and shits on Ter Stegen regardless of his performance and then some people are parroting what they pick up in here or during match chat rants because they search for an easy answer. I think it's always good to question yourself if you share opinions with these kinds of people.

I don't say Ter Stegen is free of guilt but he is by far one the least to blame on this team.

No chance for him at Germany because of Neuer and also they don't like him (Bayern's people).

Devils and I been on this fraud for ages.

I have been Mats hater from early days.
In Bravo vs Mats days, I always liked Bravo more.
Yes, Bravo flopped after Barca, but he was good and reliable for us.
If you were Barca's CB in a CL match, who would you rather have behind your back:
Bravo or this clown?

In his early days, he had those weird Frosty the snowman moments where he was freezing and didn't act like a natural GK.
He was just watching shots and didn't even move.

Buffon and other guys always JUMP towards the ball into a far corner.
Mats, on the other hand, plays some poker game and acts like a handball keeper.
He picks one side, spreads his arms, closes his eyes, bends down and that's it.
He either makes a weird elbow/chest/leg save or concedes a cheap goal which could have been prevented.

And then he had those stupid dribbles near the corner flag, rushing out like Neuer, playing risky passes etc.

For example, Bravo never made any nonsense at Barca.
He was a logical, experienced keeper who knew how to JUMP TOWARDS THE BALL, lol.

On top of everything, Mats is conceding tons in a CL.
Last year I manually counted all the shots in Psg, Juve, Roma, Liverpool games.
He had iirc 47% of shots on target conceded.
And this was before Bayern and Psg.

Also, never forget how he was conceding 3-4 goals per half in his early days for a German NT and youth NT teams.
He was crumbling under pressure since always.

Another GOAT for La Liga and a WOAT on a big stage.
