João Laporta

One thing that does scare me is Laporta doesn't seem to have kept up with the game in the past 6-7 years. There are now oil clubs and money talks more than ever. During his days, I feel like friendships/negotiation skills mattered more

A bit longer interview with Laporta.

Main points:
- He'll do everything to keep Messi at the club and praises his good relationship with him and his father. However, he didn't speak to him yet.
- He's not a fan of VAR: 'above all because it ruins the goal celebrations'
- The club has been badly governed. Covid cannot be blamed for all of it.
- Regarding Super League: He is not a fan of it because it can destroy the essence of football but he will study the proposal and decide in Barcelona's best interest
- Regarding surprise signings: 'If I have anything to say I'll say it at the right time.'
- Also talking how bad the club behaved in Suarez' case and how he handled it with Ronaldinho when Pep didn't plan with him.

I'd say he knows what the fans want to hear. It's worth a read though.

He said absolutely nothing in this interview, really.

Complacency is going to ruin him and us if he gets elected.

I saw on Twitter that he wants to sell Coutinho and Griezmann and use the money to buy Haaland. Using his good relationship with Raiola to help facilitate the deal.

No clue if this is true or not but it’s the right idea.

What is Laporta’s stance on Messi?

Said he'd do everything to keep Messi at the club.

Regarding Griezmann and Coutinho... new president didn't buy them so he won't see it as a problem to take an L. It could even be popular nowadays. Remains the be seen whether there's anyone interested.. and if so, if for the right amount to balance the books.

Of course he did. Laporta is clueless.

All this talk of a 'good relationship' with Raiola is because he put Raiola on the payroll for years at Barca after Ibra transfer so dont doubt they get on well.

Regardless the only relationship Raiola has is with money and it wont matter to him one bit the personal relationship and will come down to cash above anything.

Haaland should head for EPL anyway. Better place to be for variety of reasons.

Rumours in England that Laporta has signing of Bellerin lind up for 25m.....

Hopefully that is pure guess work.

Bellerin? The guy cant even take a throw correctly :lol:

Would be hilarous if you got him, though i dont think Laporta is stupid enough to go through with it.
