Lionel Messi - v7

Messi's issue is the fact that he won pretty much everything very early. His attitude sucks. He's too entitled.
No way should we renew him. Let him leave for free. Funny thing is no big club would want him.

Messi is probably furious he missed out on the City deal. 400mil over four years. Man. I wonder what sort of deals he will be offered if he keeps playing like this?

Depends where he goes, a club ran by the people at city/psg might pay that for one season just for the right to say he played for them at some point. If a deal was organised in january he would also increase revenue of a club not a crazy amount or anything but paying him 80 wouldn't be a 80m loss like others might suggest it is. Still think he will stay tbh though.

Qatar prepares for the World Cup. The trophy has already reached Qatar.

Messi will wear the Argentine jersey for the last time for this trophy. The dream of millions of fans is to see the trophy in Messi's hands for the last time.

This is the end of the Argentina story. The end is near

what kind of drugs are you on? he and ronaldo have been on top since day one and into their thirties.

many other legendary players have barely had 4-5 years at the top. talk about entitlement, maybe some "fans" should look in the mirror first.

Lol no, they'll probably just win Copa America/WC soon after he'll retire from NT.

🗣️ ? .@SiqueRodriguez: "If Messi is waiting for the new president to speak about his future with, I think it is because staying at Barcelona is his priority."

Nah.

He might already have a pre-contract with City before we'll get a new president but obviously it would be stupid of him to not at least talk with him before he makes a final decision. Doesn't mean he's still not fully set on leaving.

And TBH I really hope Messi's renewal won't be a priority for the new board. We have so many other things to solve. Talk to him, if he wants to stay then fine if not just let him go and move on. Don't waste months trying to convince him to stay.

The recent news is that they don't want him anymore. Probably because he is old, slow, and costs a fortune in wages.

For the record, I have no problem with Messi staying for a much-reduced wage (considering the financial situation of the club), and for a much-reduced role which should involve frequent resting, and not playing 90 mins except in the biggest matches, where he needs to give much more effort than the shit he's doing now.

So him staying should mean everything is different: wages, position in the team, tactical role, minutes spent on the field, his level of effort & commitment. Doubt his huge ego will accept that. That's why he needs to go.

I am on the same boat. Makes sense to me. No 34 years old should play every game and every minute.

Victor Font, President Candidate, told @lesportiuCAT: “I have already told Ferran Soriano [City CEO] to forget about Messi, to look for alternatives to win the Champions League, because Messi will continue with us and win the Champions League with us” #ElectionsFCB

Not only will he try to extend Messi, he will probably increase his salary. Watch him sell one of Griezmann or Coutinho, and give their wages to Messi.
