Lionel Messi - v7

If he'll play like yesterday, soon the answer to your question will be: anyone.

He is not bringing anything in attack lately.
And in other areas we play with a man down.

He wasn't at his best yesterday, but i think Griezmann was even worse, which is always true,Griezmann is always the worst on the pitch every time.I would actually like to play with kids this year, but tbh, they are a bit shit too. This will be a very long and shit season. One saving grace is Real Madrid are pretty bad too.

My point was:
1. Messi played 4 games.
We won xx points and scored xx goals
2. do you think that our results would have been any worse without him in a team in these 4 matches, if we would have played, let's say: Fati-Coutinho-Griezmann-Braithwaite

I personally don't think so.

What would we lose in this moment?
Goals? Which goals?
Assists? Anyone else would also had 1-2 assists.
Workrate? Which workrate?
Defending? Which?
Movement? Which?
Passion? Which?
Tactical balance? Lol.

In addition to the age factor, Messi seems like a moody emotional player and he clearly lost motivation to play. Magic cannot be produced without passion. We have lost him for good after what happened this summer.

Did someone really suggest Naglesman as a good coach to deal with amigos? Guy is younger than many of them. They would have ate him alive

Toys out the pram a bit early guys. Have we ever done well after an international break? Rarely. Even during pep years. It is worrying how Messi is playing. Not going to stan him for the sake of it. He's playing quite poorly. If it's him that won't allow himself to be dropped or Koeman being a limited coach and not wanting to field players who are worse than Messi even with his poor form who knows. Something has to give though.

Think there's a few people expecting unrealistic things, like Messi should have been kicked out or that he's overpaid etc. The 18/19 season he wins the balon d'or after a great year. Last year was meh for his standards, pretty good year for most forwards standards, even if the play does always go through Messi. So that's 1 season he's been meh for his standards and the start of this season too.

There's being ruthless in football which is a good thing a lot of the time, however I think Messi of all people deserves the chance to bounce back, considering his obvious dip in form hasn't been for a long time. If he doesn't bounce back this season then it should be his last here.

Against Getafe: He hit the post.
Against Sevilla: Through ball caused the equalizer.
Against Celta: Caused the Own Goal. Had a goal ruled out as an offside due to his shoulder. He was also involved in the play for Sergi Roberto's goal.
Against Villarreal: Caused the Own Goal.

Put Dembele/Trincao/Braith in lineup.
Give them 360 minutes and free reigns to shoot, pass, dribble when they want.

I am sure any of those 3 would have some goals and assists.

If you'll say: Messi is the only one who is creating.
Well, that's because no one else is free to create since every ball needs to be passed to him.

I am waiting for the first match without Messi to see whether a team will play more fluid without him.

yeah but amigos have gone adios muchachos. Alba already started building his beaver dam at Red Dead Redemption and Busi just signed a deal with Madhouse Inc. for the filming of Slender Man 2

Nagelsmann is charismatic. He could convince Leo that his system would boost his numbers. If Leo was Top Dog playing under Valv's negative snoozeball, imagine what he could've done under attack focused maestros :amazed:

I also like Gasperini a lot _ and Bielsa too and Nuno the Spirit Santo!

I would also be interested in seeing that. Honestly, I don't think we would play any better.

Bar Coutinho, Messi has been the best offensive player. Dembele just came from a long injury and had a poor performance. Braithwaite has 1 goal, 0 assists since he joined Bar?a. Griezmann has been terrible (0 goals 0 assits). Trincao so far hasn't shown anything. Ansu is just 17.

I honestly don't think we would be any better off with Messi on the bench. But I do think his minutes should be managed better and he should stick to a position upfront better.

And Messi is a lot less involved in the play now. Can't claim that everything is going through him and that if someone else played his role they would have lots of goals and assists.

Poch would be scared of Messi, just like any other coach except Pep, Klopp, Mou and Simeone. Those 4 would be the only ones who would not be afraid to bench him.

Do you actually believe they will bench Messi, the only good player they have. GTFOH 😆 Same people that are mad that Messi didn't play why Barca lose a potential clean season
