Lionel Messi - v7

Overthinking CL games?
Yeah, that might be another flaw, like what we say vs Lyon a month ago.

But Pep's failure in CL is something i think has been overstated and over-hyped by his haters.
For example, the Spurs elimination or the Chelsea one back in 12 with Barca, or the Atletico one in 16 with Bayern, were maybe some of the most unfair results ever, clear-cut cases of 'the whole universe conspiring against him'. Pep haters, blinded by their hate, would lump those eliminations together with ones where the outcome was fair.
But I agree that in the CL it is likely always to be harder because teams park buses and kill mistakes that you don't have time to rectify.
Klopp is certainly a better coach when it comes to knock-out competitions

I know that the champions league shouldn't be the only criteria of what makes a great a manager but he really does struggle to handle those higher pressure situations against much inferior teams and I don't think it can be over looked.

Personally I think one of the biggest issues holding pep back is his man management and people skills in general, he's definitely improved but I feel as though it's still another one of his limiting factors to truly being one of if not the best manager ever.
If there was an option to bring pep back here I would of course take it without hesitation, I'm just disputing how good people beleive he is.

I'll also point out that I don't believe in this pedigree crap that is kind of being used as an excuse for his very poor performances with city.

I don't think people blame him much for his Bayern stint.

But his City one has been disappointing. You simply can't lose to Monaco, Spurs, and Lyon in 3 of 4 years with the half billion or so he's spent (or more?)

Nah, you simply cannot lump all those together man. That was my original point.
There is certainly some truth to what Respekt says above, but you are comparing apples and oranges.
Every elimination does not point to the same cause.
Monaco '17 has nothing to do with Lyon '20, really nothing.

S.Roberto: "Messi sad? It's normal. For Leo, Luis is like his brother. They were together all day. It didn't feel good to see him leave when he didn't want to. I hope that with the days it gets better. it's like when you break up with your wife or your best friend."

There's no surprise these guys shit their pants in CL. The whole team is an episode of Entourage.

Messi is Vince Chase, and the likes of Suarez, Vidal and the rest are Turtle, Drama and E.

What's so embarrassing about caring for a friend?

it's not , we're just looking for reasons to hate the best player in the history who broke all records at this club because he doesn't want to stay anymore at 33yo after roma , liverpool , bayern humiliations.

They are acting as if Suarez just died after a 5 year fight with Leukemia, which was caused by the stress of being paid tens of millions by this terrible board. He weighted 20ks in his last days and the last words he uttered were addressed to Messi.

Whats embarassing is being more vocal about amigos leaving than about the results which actually matter to the fans. This is the ultimate selfishness and the epitome of living in a bubble.
Edit: I meant washed up amigos
