Jordi Farre (motion of no confidence promoter & pre-presidential candidate): "I think Bartomeu will resign today." [cadena ser]

Doubt this very much. Teflon Barto.

I very much doubt he'll step down as a result of this - he knows that in the interim period to phase 2 he'll still be in charge of the club, and even if the second phase is successful then he gets to choose an interim successor anyway, so it will just be another Rosell/Barto scenario until the new board comes in. This is a good sign symbolically, but sadly it doesn't actually change that much. If Barto selects a successor then it's just going to be another one of his cronies who will milk the club for as much financial gain as possible.

No person in their right mind would vote for Bartomeu’s successor during elections after the levels of incompetence displayed in the last 7 years.

No but what I'm saying (by my understanding) is that if phase 2 is successful, Barto gets to pick a successor who will act as president until the new board comes in. I hope I'm wrong on that - because it seems ridiculous that he would be allowed to do such a thing after being kicked out - but from what I've read this is correct. It won't be Font or Laporte coming in straight away if this turns out the way we want it, I don't think.

MARCA | What will happen now

1- A committee will review the signatures to confirm that they are from people who have membership in the club, and this process takes 10 days
2- Within a period of 40 days, the Bartomeu management should organize a general meeting attended by the club members, and the vote is done again, and if two-thirds of the votes are against, the management must resign

"The vote of no confidence will only be accepted if two thirds or more of the votes are in its favour, as long as the number of these is a minimum of 10 percent of the members of the club"

The word 'these' refers to the 2/3.

Break the statement above into two rounds. Round one 10% of total members which is very close to 16.5k, (19k votes collected). Then round 2 2/3 of total members of 156k. For me, this makes more sense!

Phase one needs 15% of the total members, not 10%. This is stated in clause 55.2.

The 10% refers to phase 2. If it's just 2/3 of the total members, then there's no point in adding the statement of the 10% into the clause.

"If they achieve that, the vote of no confidence would then be put to the entire membership base in the form of a referendum. Two-thirds of a potential 154,000 voters would have to go against the board in the second stage in order for an election to be called".

This could also refer to my statement as well as the 10% of the total members is only the minimum that is required.

Also, I trust more on what is written on the official club statutes than what is written in a sport article.

If I understand correctly, they needed 16k to get this process in motion. Now they need 2/3 of votes against Bartomeu and the minimal percent of socis attending the 2. Phase needs to be at least 10% to make it valid.

Now watch this rat pay the comission to deem 5k of votes invalid.

To clarify, if I am right:

Anyone can vote
100 000 people vote
10 000 out of 100 000 must be socios
56 666 (+ 10k socios) out of 100 000 must be againts Bartomeu
33 333 out of 100 000 can vote for Bartomeu

And my question is: What if no one vote for or againts more? They have around 20 000, there are 10% of socios, and they have at least 2/3 of votes. And if Bartomeu want to cancel that he need 7 000 votes.
