Not once did I say Messi should have his contract torn up. You're just twisting things. I stated we should negotiate a peaceful exit for him and get offers him for him. No other teams are going to come in for him whilst Bartomeu and Messi are fighting. City still might come in for him even after this. We don't know. But my whole point is.... Bartomeu has made it difficult over someone who only has 9 months left on his contract.... and who is 33, and who is on 100m euros a year including bonuses. This is kinda pointless because Messi can sign a pre-contract with a club in January anyway. Imagine if Messi gets injured for the first 3 months of the season. We could have had negotiated a peaceful exit and had a good fee for him. We could have given him the send-off he deserves. But no, Bartomeu is being too stubborn.

The reason I mentioned Rakitic, Vidal and Suarez is because they're allowed to leave without any fuss at all... and they've only been at the club for 5 to 6 years. They haven't contributed to anywhere the amount of success Messi has. I'm not saying Messi should get his contract torn up.

Just came out that Messi still stands that his exit clause is valid and that he should be allowed to leave for free. Basically said La Liga is wrong.

Messi states his exit clause went on till the end of the season (which is August), so he should be allowed to leave for free.

This is going to go to court.

Take it to court if they're so confident. Won't happen because they know they wouldn't win, so leaking to the media to put pressure on the board is more preferable to them.
