Erling Haaland

I don't know why Martinez is even part of the conversation to be honest. I feel like Barcelona fans have a blind spot when it comes to #9s.

Everyone with sense would sign him over Martinez, but Messi wants Martinez.

we have no proof messi asked for lautaro, because he commented on a player doesnt mean he wants him. the only player he publicly said he wanted was neymar.

If we were a more dynamic passer team like the Ajax of De Jong and Ziyech , i would want Haaland. But the style we play today, much more slow, i think he is going to suffer. He needs space to run, i see it like that.

I think that Haaland has more things to show than Lautaro, but i think the argentinian would link better in Barcelona. And i don't like Lautaro.

We need somebody that is similar to Suarez, David Villa and Firmino. If there is anyone like that.

As others commented in other topics, why shouldn't we return to pre-Pep styles where a no9 was a no9 and when it was way simpler to build a team compared to today where 90% of signings are misfits?

Go back to a no9.
Go back to a simpler, faster and a more versatile style with more direct passes, long balls, crosses, headers, longshots.

For that style we don't need a false 9 but a good, old, simple no9.
Like Kluivert, Etoo, Larsson.

I am tired of these short, playmaking Cfs who drop deep, create, who are never in the opponent's box and who rarely score.

Weaker linkup and technique but scoring 30 goals per season is way more important than a good link up, defending and 15 goals per season.
Especially in a few Months when Messi will be gone or heavily declined.

Have to agree with you on this.
A number nine should be about finding the back of the net first. Tracking back, versatility should be second.

I'm also sick of this slow, one dimensional style of play. I'd rather play a quick counter attacking style with various ways to score as opposed to walking the ball into the net.

We will need Messi to retire before we can play like that again.

Absolutely. But isn't Suarez that kind of 9? It is just that he has got old. So we didn't really abandon the classic 9.

But say we go wit Lautaro. Then maybe we should look for a better version of Paulinho in midfield to arrive from the second line and score goals. Setien has already made Frenkie arrive into ST when Messi goes deep. But he doesn't have the striking acumen.

How about Havertz? Probably the most vertical goalscoring midfielder at the moment outside of Bruno Fernandes.
