Such a negative starting lineup and the first half... Of course later he made the right subs, but how about get the lineup right from the start, Ernesto shithouse all over again. Rakitic - De Jong - Arthur next game because Busi and Vidal are out... Also Umtiti - Lenglet

If anything, I think Raki plays better with this combo than with Busquets in the field. You need one stable player and two moving

True, but we are deadly if we beat the press, that's why everyone tries to press us too hard. Especially if Arthur is playing instead of the retired Croatian.

No idea what the fuck Napolis plan was. I would be furious if I supported them.

same as it has been against Liverpool. They will attempt the same shit away. If we don't put our chances away and they nick a lucky goal on counter, we will be under huge pressure.

Don't they have 2 wins against Pool over the last 2 seasons?

Not a trash team by any means, especially in that stadium.

1-1 is looking pretty good. I must say.

They were without their best CB and have Gattuso as their manager.

I thought they beat Inter recently and Juve too. Juve might have been under Carlo though, not sure.

Considering our squad size and the way Setien sabotaged the start, it's a pretty good result still IMO.

I didnt see the full napoli liverpool game but I'm sure napoli didnt just defend with 11 behind the ball like they did tonight. I don't think they would've if they were playing real madrid either. Teams seem to think this team is as good as peps barca and make it alot harder for them than they do for other teams

They dont have proper cb's and dm(quality wise) to be self confident enough to stop messi. They played against him for the first time and that was exactly what i was expecting from this game- dont leave space to messi and we would try our best to get something from counter attacks. Actually napoli did pretty good in that department.

Conclusion:

As fucked up as it seems, i didnt saw us pressing that much that late in to the cl ko away game since forever. Griez making fouls for yellow card when opponents are trying to launch counter attacks, busi always in some duels and making fouls- hunger is there and somehow he is not that late in to the duels. Vidal is a warrior, it kinda seems that he done his job for this tie, considering that we would probably advance at nou camp. Dont know, i think we were somehow smart and full of confidence. Could be wrong

Nah, Juve win was under Gatusso.

I agree they're not a bad team, but imo we should have won this game if we had any chance to win the CL. Yes, it's a decent result, perfectly acceptable. What's not acceptable is we had 1 shot the whole game.

So, we're basically back on the EV situation. I expected more.

Yes, but you could say we have half our squad missing too.

Don't look at the result though. Look at the way the team played. Napoli are at their worst their last 2-3 years. Underwhelming in the league and a downgrade when it comes to manager compared to Sarri and Ancelotti.

The way we played tonight is not good enough. It's how we played vs. Lyon and Chelsea away.

What happens if we meet one of the better teams? We're going to get trashed.

There's something to be said about the team's play that a) you have a crap bench and b) Clasico is in 4 days, isn't there? I'd take 1:1 in this circumstance anytime. And yes, you're likely to get beat later on. It's nothing we don't know. But this was OK game management I thought. Setien actually corrected the rather conservative 11 by bringing Arthur on within 10 mins of 2nd half. It's meh, but it's not a bad first effort for him.
