Lionel Messi - v7

Griezmann was more or less left wing in a 442 half the time and Messi could have played him through one on one first half.

Messi was poor and it was not on Griezmann.

fair enough he should have passed to him in 1-2 occasions. but there is no chemistry between them and griezmann takes bad decisions all the time.

just saying he doesn't have players around him that are on the same wavelength. like suarez, alba, alves, iniesta etc

He was poor and made bad decisions but didnt look like he was sulking it looked the opposite at times and was a bit anxious in final third.

Honestly, if it wasn't for Serghei's usually good posts about football in general, I'd have lost my shit even harder at the 'Messi moves like a retired player' comment. Won Ballon D'or 4 months ago and can contribute a lot in the right setup. Anyone with a brain (and not his fanboy) knows he's declining with age. But that sort of vitriol is BBZ tier.

Messi was as guilty probably more than anyone else that game of making bad decisions on ball.

They played on opposite side of parks for most part and cant really remember too many times play between them was all that bad other than that break.

There is no point signing Griezmann to play LW in an almost 442 formation at times.

Difficult to believe.

How anyone could think he did wasn't passive, inaccurate, downright garbage and unimpressive before you scored is just blind. He changed completely once the goal went in.

Inaccurate and unimpressive for sure, but passive and lazy? That's bullshit and you know it too.

He didn.t had any options, the left side was dead in attack with Firpo. With Alba he has a much much better connection and can pass the ball over defense...Today he couldn.t do shit...no through balls

Let him enjoy his vocal leader/'lion' Ramos who has been on the receiving end of more big game humiliations from Barcelona than anyone in their history.

Leading by example.

Bad first half, lots of misplaced pass and bad touch, he seemed shaky and didn't look like his usual. But you have to say, Napoli parked the bus in the first half.
But anyway it's a good second half.
That one run when he fool the opposition and passed to the right, and nearly get the return ball that resulted in clash with gk, was one of the good moments.
Also he pressured the defense at some occasions so that's good for him.
A whole different guy in 2nd half but napoli's wall was hard to break.
Decent score for us, so no complaints. Expect a nice game in the return leg, but we are surely lacking player options, atm.
