This is starting to make some sense now if it is true. There is NO WAY rodrigo is worth 60M Euros.

Most of the 60M Euros will go Sporting for Bruno, and he is worth that much. Sporting are desperate for money at the moment and the only reason Bruno and his agent are asking for higher wages/bonuses is because they know the hell they’ll be joining in United. We get Rodrigo on Loan, Valencia gets Bruno for the rest of the season.

Hopefully, this most likely means there is no mandatory-buy option for Rodrigo and if there is one it will not be anywhere near 60m. I expect his price to be no more than what Valencia would get for Paco, around 25-30M Euros.

Rodrigo is a mediocre player but more importantly a bad fit. We already struggle with accommodating Griezmann and Messi to the starting 11. Bringing in Rodrigo will make things even worse.

The only fit I can see for Rodrigo is that Messi continues as the False 9, Rodrigo plays on the Right as a cover for Demebele and potentially as a Plan B in the #9 position. He isn’t a goal scored, which is what we really need but he is decent at link-up play and passer.

Fati seems to play better on the left.

I think its pretty clear that our 1A solution is Martinez in summer, so its quite reasonable that we dont want to pay 40ME+ for Aubamayang or Rodrigo. The stuff with Fernandes would make a lot of sense as well regarding Rakitics and Vidals future here.
