Ansu Fati (loaned to Brighton)

Yeah, I'm going to give him a pass for this performance.

The first game time he got since he got injured and he's still 16/17. At his best, he has shown some good things but also he will have performances that clearly show his age like yesterday. He needs game time and much more time before we can harshly judge him.

Agreed. Really bad game but he is going to have loads of them at his age. Sides like Valladolid at home are the perfect place for Ansu's opportunities. Let's hope Valverde doesn't use it as an excuse to count on him less as that would be completely counter-productive (hello Alena).

I'm thinking some games for the B team might be good for him. Afraid it might be too much pressure for him, and it's hard to develop in such a incoherent and static system as ours. It's shouldn't be his job to turn around games in which the whole team is playing like shit.

At the B-team he can grow his confidence and focus on his own development as a player.

He has already integrated into the first team pretty well. No need to send him to the B team imo. All he needs is a decent manager to help him develope properly

No offense, but he is not ready and a total liability in attack.

He is too young and the pressure is too huge.
He should only get minutes at 3:0 results when the pressure is off.

In the last 20 minutes it was pointless to watch a match.
Too young Fati on the left losing every ball.
Gumbau Junior Perez playing on the right.
And Griezmann as a No9.

I felt bad for our midfielders who needed to pass the ball to one of these 3.

Or we exagerrated him after 100 minutes of football?
Even on the first match (Osasuna?) when he scored, he was losing almost every single ball.

He is waaaaaaaay too young and needs tons of developing and improving.

After his initial breakthrough I said the lad needs to be managed properly and allowed to develop in Barca B for the time being with some first team cameos in comfortable situations.

I was predictably shouted down and was told he needed to immediately become a prominent fixture in the first team.

Coming on in these sorts of matches away from home, losing, as an attacking sub expected to help turn the match around is not good for his development. Quickest way to ruin to promising talent.

I maintain we must handle him very carefully and patiently. Send the kid down to Barca B.

I said so as well, he should be playing regular football with no pressure at Barca B and play an occasional sub/Copa/home game for us.

Amazing that some of you are blaming him for the teams shameful performance. Like he is supposed to be perfect every time he plays. Pathetic

I partly agree with you. I agree with you that he is too young, too inexperienced and not ready for matches like these. Nor should he be. He is 17, very talented, and has shown that he has the skills to perform at this level. But not when the whole team is playing like shit, everything is hella chaotic and we are loosing balls left right and center.

So yes he is ready for this level, but no, he is not ready to turn around games and change the fact we collectively suck in most away games.

No one is claiming that though? What we are literally saying is that he is not ready and should be sent back to his level. He is 17 years old ffs.
