Ansu Fati (loaned to Brighton)

In Lucho we trust!
The Fati and Alba combo looked more on point than the Griezmann Alba combo, although Valencia were pretty naive in their defending on Saturday.

I wonder what is going to happen with Fati when everybody comes back.

For me personally, I would sell Perez and promote Fati as the team's 5th attacker as I think he's too good for Segunda B and has more potential than Perez.

Will go to Barca B and train regularly with the first team. They're not going to make the same mistake as they did with Bojan, Munir and Sandro, even if Ansu is more talented than all of them. They're going to let the hype down and him develop in peace and let him play regularly every week.

Would be a no brainer if he was 18 years old ;D With a 16 year old player there are obviously some kind of reservations. I wont claim to know whats best for him.

I think Fati will get a measured amount of playing time for the rest of this season. At Dortmund Tuesday, I would use him as an opener. Suarez is still getting back into game shape, so wait until the 30 minute mark to bring Suarez on for Fati.

Fati can either start games when one of the big three are hurt or need a rest, then get subbed, or he can come on as a sub when the team needs late goals. He'll play 90 minutes for the first team in early Copa rounds, in CL first round after Barca clinches qualification, in just a few Liga games against weaker opponents. When Mess, Suarez, Greizmann and Dembele are all available, Fati can play 90 minutes for Barca B.

He's basically going to take playing time away from Dembele.

Of course, the youngster still has some pretty major deficiencies in his play. Way too many turnovers, and his defense is not good. These only partially offset the goal production, so he does have to play a fair amount.

Good point, even though I think Fati can offer more than Perez from the bench for this season.

Let's hope whatever happens, he will be able to develop nicely.

I agree. That said, if he plays tomorrow and does really well again and even scores.....the club will have a tough decision to make because it just shows he belongs at this level and going to Segunda B would be a downgrade.

Especially when you consider we need a right-footed natural LW whose movement off the ball is good, makes smart runs, something Dembele is still struggling to show on a consistent basis.

Would be tragic for Dembele if he's benched by a soon to be 17 year old kid.

Either way he should be mentoring the lad as a father figure. Not only about his football career but about his personal life as well. Like Alex Ferguson did. Create an emotional bond so the kid will die for you out there on the pitch.

It's because of what you said that I hope to god Fati scores tomorrow to light a fire on Dembele's ass.

Dembele should know that if he doesn't perform this season and be fit for most of the season, then he could (for me, he should) be out with the probable arrival of Neymar next summer and Fati's potential.

Fati's unexpected but very welcoming rise is a win-win for the club. Very excited to see how he develops.

is there any chance Ansu starts tomorrow vs Dortmund?

inevitable wankfest over Sancho but 16 year old Fati could steal all the headlines

If Fati keeps doing what he's doing now and Dembele ends up getting sold, I would rather use the money elsewhere than on Neymar.

But that's just me.
