📊 [Opta] | FC Barcelona have won LaLiga title in 3 of the 16 previous seasons where they've lost their opening game (1951-52, 1973-74 & 2008-09).

At this point I don't see a reason to keep Valverde, and the sooner he leaves, the better.
I don't care if the replacement is a 2nd or 3rd tier coach, they'll bring more to the table than EV.

Lucho for example, is not a 1st tier coach in my opinion, but at least he had some strengths, like emphasizing on physical preparation and discipline.

Valverde on the other hand, lacks severely in all the important areas.

He is complacent, unambitious, doesn't have his players respect, lacks imagination, lacks charisma, is poor tactically and doesn't care about developing talent long term.
He is a cancer for this team, and won't bring anything new to the table. We should stop spending money on players until we have coach who actually knows how to use and develop them.

I don't know what coach we should get, but even though there isn't an an obvious choice, it is possible to find someone who can bring more to this team than Valverde currently can.

Yep. You can see it on his face the job's getting to him. His ex colleague/fitness coach is just basically stating the obvious.

Problem is Valverde has done little to actually silence those critics.

It's like a kid who keeps jamming a fork in an electrical socket and wondering why he keeps getting shocked and hurt by it. He doesn't learn from it and still persists in jamming the fork in there. And he wonders why his parents scold him.

Valverde is a bang average manager but our players are nowhere near as good as most fanboys seem to think. Other than Coutinho, there isn't one player who I think has performed much below expectations under Valverde. There's always people going on about hiw great Lucho was, but it's not like we were playing much better in his last season even with MSN, a fit Umtiti, and younger versions of Rakitic, Busquets, Alba, and Pique.

Other than Messi, Griezmann, Frenkie, Arthur, and Alba, the rest of our outfield players are meh at best. Two of those weren't there last season and Arthur was still adapting and dealing with fitness issues. Valverde isn't a coach that elevates a team, but he also doesn't destroy dressing rooms or use bizarre tactics that ruin everything. He's a nothing manager. He doesn't add anything, but he also isn't turning our "world class squad" into shit either.

(I still want Valverde to go, but I guarantee getting rid of him won't have the impact that everyone seems to think it will)
