have you even browsed past this current page? he was criticized for his unprofessionalism not just on here, but on twitter and in the news tabloids. it stopped because he turned things around to the point where the club were talking about how impressed they were about his work ethic and being at the training facility every day when others weren't.
and the day he missed and the day liverpool were eliminated people were literally destroying for his miss against liverpool, despite the fact that any top club should be able to secure a 3 goal lead
stop making up imaginary narratives. he's been the most criticized player here and things only started to calm down once the reality about coutinho hit after liverpool progressed.
I'm pretty sure that's Coutinho, Rakitic, Roberto, Suarez, Busi then Dembele
yeah, i'm sure all those guys had the media on their back the same way that dembele had from the end of last season, through the summer transfer window and during that spell when they were leaking everything from him missing training (despite players coming out and saying that they've done the same).
only coutinho faced anywhere near the same criticism as dembele from the fans and media and that only came after he taunted the fans and didn't show up against his former club

All I ask is that he comes back 100% and can stay healthy for the entire season.
What is the point?
Griezmann will play ahead of him no matter what and he might also have to compete with Coutinho if we can't sell him.
Add that to his injuries, inconsistency, lack of discipline and load of limitations on the pitch itself I just cannot see him ever establishing himself here.
The lad will probably be off to PSG in a swap deal + money for Neymar next summer.

The point is that he never had a full pre-season here. The first one was wasted because of NeyNey's shenanigans and the second was missed because of the WC. Every player benefits from having a pre-season.
Coutinho should be sold ASAP.

If he can stay healthy he is easily one of our best players.
Pre-season helps, but either way he isn't going to be playing all that much.
Griezmann-Suarez-Messi will be our frontline in 90% of matches. Dembele is also not a player that you can count on after being benched a long period of time. He needs continuous game time and has to be allowed to fail over and over before he finally gets in some decent form and remembers how to play proper football again. A luxury like that isn't granted at club of this stature.

Yeah and he was the guy that Valverde brought on vs Lyon to save him, despite being only 60% fit, risking an long-term injury (what eventually happened in the end and Valverde said he knew the risk and did it anyway).
