Some of you will regret him leaving when he starts to perform again in some other big club with a proper manager. The main reason he flopped here was Valverde and nothing else. If you expect Griezmann will change things with Valverde still here you are in for a big surprise.

regret what exactly ?

He could turn again WC with another team but as soon as he's back here he will turn to shit again.

Biggest flop in history.

Valverde has his share of fault but how is he at fault when this guy tries to dribble 5 players , or when he can't defend the ball at his feet and gets pushed easily off the ball , his low iq moments , when other teammates are in a clear position but he wants to shoot ,when he can't make a simple 10 meter pass to a teammate, when his only remaining weapon is shooting with his right leg and 9 out of 10 times another player blocks his shot.

I swear to god this season whenever i looked at him , 90% of the time he looked like Denis Suarez.

If he goes to another team and does really good , that doesn't mean he would have done as good at Barca.

I would only want him here 1 more year if another manager comes with new ideeas. If it's Valverde again , don't bother.

Of course. Coutinho is a good player, everyone knows that, but with Valverde, we will never get the best out of him.

Coutinho is suppose to be Don Andreas successor. It is why we bought him, right? So far he hasn't shown the intellgince, workrate, and mentality that defined Iniesta. He has the skills but he is weak in the head. €100m down the drain

You're having a laugh, mate. Yes, he will look infinitely better going forward against hordes of potato farmers in the french league, giving you plenty of reason to re-post this tremendously insightful forecast. He's plain shit, brah. His mentality is shit. He is not a Luka Modric (who incidentally was shit and voted by Marcas readers as the worst transfer for Real Madrid in that year) who will turn his shit around; Luka's background story could be a Hollywood movie - he has ice in his veins due to a extremely hard upbringing and knows how to deal with adversity.

Coutinho is not of the same caliber. He has been spoonfed chance after chance, been coddled by his Big Brother Suarez and sideshow pal Leo since he got here; even Valverde (!!) had to give up and play the black, African/French Muslim player who speaks zero spanish over the Catholic, Brazilian pal of the starting forwards who can communicate with the coach readily (I know Portuguese and Spanish are different, but still within arms reach of each other language-wise). The only reason as to why has to do with his performances. And Coutinho has been utter shite in every key moment throughout the season with a few exceptions, where he has been decent at best.

Really, nothing else?? Valverde tried to fit him in any way he could without hurting Messis role, and gave him chance after chance.
You are blind if you don't see that. If you want Valverde to play Messi in a role that doesn't make the most out of him, then

We should just cut our losses. Valverde or not, Coutinho was a flop.

That's because we would just keep Denis Suarez if we wanted a direct replacement for Coutinho

I hope he will stay if we will change manager. We all know he is WC player in Liverpool and Brazil and even in his half season with us when he came in winter transfer.
Himself if back to form with De Jong and Arthur can make a future great midfield

How was he so good in his first 6 months? Was it because we played a flatter 4-4-2?

I remember being so excited a year ago because we'd be boosted by Coutinho in this year's CL.

Seems like a mental thing, too. He has zero confidence right now, and even scoring important goals isn't enough to turn it around. Maybe he need 2 good months to be consistently good again, and we don't have that much time/patience/money (we will save 25M€ if we sell this summer instead of keeping him, for example).

I'll admit I was never a fan of the Coutinho signing so may be slightly biased, but for me, even in those opening months he was nothing special. He scored a few goals, but his all round game/contributions never amazed me. Personally I think people were so desperate for him to succeed they perceived his impact as being much more significant than it actually was; to say nothing of his actual level of talent, which despite a big improvement in his stats his last year at Liverpoool was never worth remotely what we paid.

As a footballer he's better than what he's shown these past few months, obviously, but nowhere near the best in the world, way, way off Neymar and Hazard as a LW, for example, and even as a cm not worth holding onto more in hope than expectation; particularly not if as is looking likely Valverde stays, who has shown no interest at all in trying him there. Genuinely I'd take half what we paid at this point, and move on.
