Ernesto Valverde - V1

We have Messi and Suarez who can both score 30-40 goals in La liga.
They have no one.
They lost CR7.
Hazard isn't a goalscorer.

So EV and his slow football is the safest bet against a current RM.

In a Cl, well we won it once in 8 years.
We won't win it either way, most likely.

I am not defending EV, btw.

Lol.

You think Messi is going to retire if Valverde is replaced?

Yea, Valverde is surely the main reason why we won the league. We would struggle to make top 4 without him

Do you even read what you write before clicking post?

EV and his slow football is only a safe bet against insomnia.

! Valverde doesn't intend to resign, and among the heavyweights supporting him in the dressing room are Jordi Alba, Sergio Busquets and Luis Suárez. The club doesn't want to make rushed choices in the heat of the moment. [@totcosta, ]

Surprise, surprise. 3 selfish, declining players want him to stay for selfish reasons. I say the board should fire EV and them as well, legends or not.

Please, Valencia, beat us so we can get rid of this coward manager. and fuck you Valverde for making me root against Barca.

still have a little hope as i haven't seen anywhere suggesting Messi supports the fraud yet.. if he comes out backing him we are totally fucked.

I hope Valencia stuff us 5-0 in the Copa final. starting to resent these seniors who gave us so much in the past. Alba is safe but Suarez and Busi should pack their bags

Maybe it will take Messi to lose out on the Balon D’or award to shake him into action and get rid of Valverde

Yah, Valencia need to absolutely thrash us. For the sake of the club, we need to get hammered and I hope it's as embarrassing as possible. EV deserves nothing more.

I hope Messi slightly tweaks a calf or something in the next few days, just enough to keep him from saving our ass. Or he could play with low spirits and low effort as that would be understandable given how hurt he was by that loss.

Can't afford to keep this rat at the club for another minute, he's the KING of false hope and results in mickey mouse games while bottling it when we need to show up most. And it's not like he's managing us well in those mickey mouse games either, it's always individual brilliance (almost exclusively Messi) that hides the flaws.

Yeah I'm glad Messi isnt backing him. It means that he's pissed off at not winning the UCL and possibly blames Valverde for it. Come on Messi, just go to Barto and tell him you want him sacked, and he'll do it.
I dont understand why EV just wont swallow his pride and resign. Selfish prick.

For Catalans, winning in Spain is all that matters, a win in Europe is a bonus. at Madrid it's different, they always prided themselves on winning in Europe starting from the 1950's. Barca didn't have any success in Europe until the late 70's and didn't win a European cup until the 90's, despite having the likes of Luis Suarez, Cruyff, Maradona.

Catalans just want to stick it to Spain especially after recent events, and winning the "King's Cup" is very important to them. Winning a Copa in Madrid or Seville or wherever and booing the anthem etc while taking home the trophy are the highlight of the season for Catalans.

100% correct. Well, these local fans are going to fuck their club. The success is going to dry up, the sponsors are going to dump the club and we will become a club who chases a top four spot. Our reign as a European force is well over and as a domestic force it will fade too. Look for the two Madrid clubs to come back strongly.
In Cl Real Madrid have the right mentality. They expect to win it, the fans demand it and you can see the results. We have a more fatalistic view of the cl and it shows. This club needs a manager who will change the mentality of the club, its players and fans. Guys like Cruyff and Pep did that but there was no proper succession plan.
Also alot of fans are fly by night fans. Fans in Asia for example. When Milan were big, they were huge in Asia. Nowadays you'll be lucky to find any of the same fans who support Milan.
Fuck the seniors. Instead of grooming the juniors and helping the club they are holding onto their spots and promoting a coward.

He wont resign...its incredible!

Lucho resigned for so much less. But i guess Lucho actually respects and has affection for the club.

Regarding EV being the safest bet, it meant: with EV you know what you will get: 1-2 defeats in La Liga over 38 rounds, boring football, 2:0 wins with Messi's goals and a CL exit with a 4:0 defeat.
With any new coach, you don't know what you will get:
1) you can get a coach who will click right away, win trophies and play awesome football
2) or you will get a coach who will struggle in the beginning

For example, even if we would brought Klopp or Pochetino, I am not too sure that they would click RIGHT AWAY.
Long term, probably yes (even though, Coutinho was a safe bet on paper also. Van Gaal was a safe bet in his 2nd spell also).
So, imo, EV is a safest bet except for Pep, that he will bring results in La Liga right away, since he had 3-4 defeats in La Liga over the last 76 matches.

With any other coach in the world, not named Pep, there is more uncertainty regarding his short term results in the next season regarding La Liga.
Before you'll reply: but we need long term success and a plan.
I am not denying that.
I am saying that Barto, the board and socios are playing it safe.
They want La Liga and nothing more.
And in this moment, EV is probably 80-90% safe bet that he will win La Liga in the next season, especially with Frenkie and Griezmann.

Once again, CdR is not a meaningful trophy, losing it or getting thrashed won't be enough to sack Valverde.

The only thing that will make him lose his job is losing the league in a terrible fashion (many points behind Real Madrid for example) and I think he can do it. The question is, do we want us to sacrifice a whole season to fire him? Are you willing to pay that high of a price?

Valgreen apologists labelling the Copa as a grand and majestic cup which is more prestigious than the Champions league.

Hoping to somehow downplay one of the most spectacular and embarrassing defeats ever witnessed in the history of FC Barceona and European sport.
