Luis Suárez

People are too harsh on Suarez, it's okay for him to bottle it at Anfield given the emotional pressure. He just needs to lose weight, you won't find a better striker anywhere else.

I don't mind if he's in the squad, but we need another top class forward

Yes

so im guessing we have another starting xi player who didnt take knee surgery when he was supposed to?

He was playing so we could go for a treble because we had no other player capable of playing CF.

I thought it was common knowledge he was playing on regularly treated knees and he would get surgery after the season.

I don't blame Luis, but please get Jovic, Griezmann, Son or Kane so we have an alternative with a big league scoring record. Preference is for pace included (1st three), but honestly I'd take Kane too as he is too quality to too many elements of his game.

If he is going to stay here for another season, I hope the knee surgery will help him as it did for Aguero.

Before his surgery, Aguero stated that he felt pain in his knee even during training sessions, but now can help the team press much longer and more consistently.

We need to cut that South American train apart. Messi who is tugging Suarez who is tugging Coutinho along.

Two or at least one of those should leave. It's embarrasing that Coutinho or Suarez have multiple site games in a row and still not benched.
MSN at its prime was amazing, but that’s been over for years. Yup, time to break the south american cabal, especially when it’s not delivering for us

I don't even think it's completely unrealistic that he could come back stronger after a surgery. I can also understand why he didn't get it done earlier depending on what the doctors said, he would miss a big part of the ongoing season with no replacement in the squad. I don't think that was just down to him being dumb, at least unless they already knew it needs to be done before the start of this season.

BUT Barca can't blindly hope for him recovering well. He will be out a long time, he is 32 and he declined in many ways an injury simply can't fix. His passing, speed and attitude on the pitch won't change for the better just because his knee doesn't hurt anymore.

So the club has to look for at least one quality striker that can bench Suarez, and he has to accept that he can't remain a starter forever just because he is Luis Suarez.

In the CL:

2017/18: 10 games 1 goal
2018/19: 10 games 1 goal

:hooray:

i might be the only one who's not putting all the blame on him for this,it's not that simple for me,if our main nr.9 has this appalling statistic then it also must be something to do with our gameplay. that of course does not mean i'm not aware of his horrible form in some games

Luis Suarez is still a very good forward but for me he has a few problems:

1) Weight - he has a few kg more than he should. This affects his movement and speed.
2) He spends more in arguing with referees and opponents and in provoking and fighting with opponents than in playing football. For me, his behaviour has become disgusting.
3) Injuries - I think he's been having issues with his knee for some time. It seems alternative treatment and not having enough rest didn't help and finally he went on surgery. I hope this will solve his knee issues.

Luis (turning 33 in January) still has a place in the squad but he needs a forward partner who can play instead of him in some of the matches so Suarez can have a rest. Every season he's been playing 50+ matches for Barcelona + 6-7 for Uruguay.

there's no doubt i'd keep him but only as a sub from now on and on lower wages, but we know that's not happening. i'll be sad when he leaves but we can't let ourselves to rely on him as a main striker next year
