Great game. This is the type of matches that he shines in. Still lacking through balls and balls into space. That lob ball over the defenders that all quality midfielders can play. Busquest had some yesterday and one that led to the goal in the away match. I hope they will come with age. Its looks like its something he knows he lacks so he is working on it which is good.

Lol.
A lot of people questioned him in August and September.
Then he played well in October, November, December, January and February.
He was bad to meh in March and April till today.
This is 8 Months for you, cool story.

I have already commented on this after previous matches.
I have a feeling that Barcaforum fans are quite biased and soft towards Arthur.

People here say that Arthur stood out in our midfield, let's see what neutral viewers from papers said:
Daily Mail:
Raki 7
Busi 9
Arthur 7

Mirror:
Rakitic 7
Busi 7
Arthur 7

INews
Raki 7
Busi 7
Arthur 7

SkySports:
Raki 7
Busi 7
Arthur 7

90Min:
Raki 7
Busi 6
Arthur 7

Independent:
Raki 7
Busi 7
Arthur 7

Espn:
Raki 8
Busi 6
Arthur 7

Barcablaugranes:
Raki 8
Busi 7
Arthur 8

Total:
Raki 7,25
Arthur 7,13
Bui 7,00

For example, out of 8 currently available reviews on these popular pages, Arthur didn't get better ratings than Rakitic on any of those.
On BarcaForum though, Arthur is always MOTM in midfield.

My friend YodaMaster would still bench Rakitic before both Arthur and Busi, since Rakitic is the worst out of three, of course.

You seem like a proper idiot.

Rather than obsess over not having a through ball, I think he should focus on his strength which he barely usea : his mid range shot. His tight control is great so he can get his shot off against anyone. I feel like with one more pre season of specific shooting training and he can score 10 goals a season

Arthur makes the midfield tick and when he is playing. When he is playing well, Rakitic and Busquets play better. The trio compliment each other in Ernie-Ball.

He is not prime Xavi, but when you have a midfielder who can both create space through his ball retention and gives you guarantee's he won't lose position anywhere he is on the pitch, it makes things much easier. Covering a lot of ground defensively and then closing games with Vidal is a money move. LE2015 done a similar thing with Rakitic and closing games with Xavi.

This is what a fanboy post looks like.

This is what a fanboy post looks like.

What? You don't think Rakitic and Busquets are better with Arthur than they were since 2016/2017 with Vidal, Andre Gomes, Rafinha, Iniesta, Alena or anyone else in midfield?

And by the same token that Arthur is also at his best when paired with Busquets and Rakitic.

Nothing fanboyish about Porque's post at all.

The funny thing is during the 14/15 Season there were arguments and moments that showed Xavi, being a better CM partner to Rakitic than Iniesta was at the time. Problem was Xavi was 34/35 years old while Iniesta not exactly young himself but still had some legs on him.

Think there's a reason why Valverde persists in using Arthur as a starter even if his form dipped a bit. He provides something the other CMs we have don't and that's pure control, and that helps out Busi, Rakitic, Vidal, etc.
