7 - Philippe Coutinho - V1

So, end of day, it always ends up with: the coach have to play somehow, in some kind of formation, with Dembele-Coutinho-Suarez-Messi (or Messi as false 9 without Suarez), play well and win, because it's obvious and very clear (and anyone who understands a little bit of socces agrees) that is possible and achievable.
If the coach can't do it (how is it possible with these players???), then we have to fire him and get a new coach. Repeat.

Yes, it's that moronic by now.

he was miles better than de bruyne or any other midfielder outside of pogba and kante during the world cup. would love to see him under a different coach

No difference between him and Denis. At the start of the season Dembele looked like the biggest transfer flop, but now the tables have turned, Dembele is playing better and better and Coutinho is just shit.

Eriksen is a good call would of been a much much better buy, however he isn't Brazilian so...

I think we should be playing Malcom instead of him on the wing, Him on the wing just doesn't work with Messi and Suarez also in the team.

With some attacking midfielders, they can adapt well on the wing but Coutinho is not one of them.

Doesn't have the pace and work rate is questionable there as well. He often complicates things with the ball and doesn't have any chemistry with Alba whatsoever.

we basically paid a club record fee for a worldclass-on-his-day CAM whilst having no intention of playing a formation that utilizes a CAM  add to that his problem has always been consistency with the only slot available to play being LW and you have a recipe for a flopper

not Coutinho's fault, not EVs fault, its this damn boards fault. they lost Neyboy and wanted a shiny new brazilian

Dreadful once again and for the 100th time his lack of pace is exposed as a winger for all to see expect for Valverde. Although I have voiced my thoughts about his transfer (even before it materialized) and his strengths as a player I have no doubt, despite never believing that he is not the best fit, that another manager would do better. For starters there would be an actual system in place. I don't even think that Coutinho knows what he is supposed to be doing on the field. Playing him for only freaking 215 minutes (!!!) as an interior ever since he was signed almost 1 year ago, is not helping either. I guess it only takes Valverde 2 games and 35 minutes (LOL) to conclude that Coutinho has no chance of playing in a midfield position in the 4-3-3 (or what is left of it) that we are using currently. Baffles my mind.

Is there a mf out there that likes to complicate things as much as this guy? How many times did this guy needlessly spin like a headless chicken instead of giving a simple pass that would have advanced the attack way better? That's not an issue with his position, it's an issue with his head.

He does the same shit as Neymar but without even half his other qualities like speed, goal scoring, playmaking etc.

Just a reminder that this guy has cost us 160m and came as a bonafide superstar. Meanwhile the work in progress and the much blamed Dembele has been our second most decisive player.
