According to this Man City backed off due to FFP complications and UEFA investigating them, they were initially willing to pay up and he was willing to go there.

My understanding is that the player has turned City down b/c he is worried from their FFP not the other way around, may be I got the translation wrong?
And I am not saying things just in the link, it is well known we are following the kid, Bayern too and RM have been linked to him to some extent. If he is unwilling to wait till May and accepts deal in September, then he is more or less turning other opportunities down

It is his loss if he goes to PSG. The only explanation would be they offered him much, much more money than any of us did. If he is a gold digger and let the kid go to Paris.

I am not too upset if this is true, if we didn't get him, it is better than he went to PSG instead of Bayern or City.
