@BBZ
First of all u should learn to stick to the real points and sum up ur wall of text. I stopped somewhere in the middle.

Who said u should play everyone 15-20 matches?? I just said bring in some o the young players regualary. For example bring Puig from time to time to see how he does in a laliga match. Let him play in B team regulary to develop. Same with other young ones like Alena.
I dont say let everyone play regulary in A team. And if someone has an unexpected impact in the game maybe give him more time with A team.

Semedo doesnt fit in this. He is a different story. A player who needs constant game time at the moment. Thats why i said maybe loan out.

But it is about numbers.

Person A says: young players should play.
I reply: they can't since there is not enough of time/spots to play them all (enough). Also, please post numbers and I will prove you in numbers that they can't play nearly enough as majority want.
You replied: it is not about numbers.

The point is that it IS about numbers.
In this topic (Semedo), we showed that Semedo played 36 matches last (36!) and people still say: he hasn't played enough, he hasn't played regularly, EV killed his confidence.
or the best alibi: He hasn't played with STARTERS to develop understanding.
So, now, not only that a player:
1. needs to play a lot
2. needs to play often
3. he also needs to play with starters
Now please, how to do that and to develop/give minutes 10 youngsters/new signings and fight for La liga/CL in the same time?

And then, isn't it logical to ask:
1. if 36 matches in Semedo's debut season wasn't enough and EV is killing him, then similar numbers probably won't be enough for Arthur's and Malcom's confidence, right?
If Arthur will play 20 matches, of course that people will write the same about EV.
2. further, if 36 matches for Semedo were not enough, how do you expect that 10 matches for Alena will be classed as enough for his development, chemistry, confidence?

This is why I asked for some rough numbers from you.
It is easy to say:
It's not about the numbers.

It's about strategy and continuous assessment of the players. Which is lacking.

And I am replying again: It IS about numbers.
Please, write your rough numbers and then you will realize that none coach in the world will be able to offer those numbers at Barca if we fight for all titles (and unless if we have 20 points advantage mid February).

As i wrote. These young players i mean should play constanly in Team B and should get played in 1st team from time to time. For me its wrong now to put Alena in Team A and almost never play im. Worst thing u could do with such a talent.

For the semedo case. Everytime he made a few games in a row he played pretty well. But it was rarely the case. The last games when he played RB he wasnt good for a few reasons. Himself, shaky(low confidence, after playing good preseason and first game and still benched), no RW(the same thing Roberto struggles with from time to time, but he is more confident and has more chemistry with the rest of the team to compensate it) and Roberto playing rCM which he did pretty bad. This wont work at all.
All games i remember with dembele on the right(which happened last season) or another RW then messi(preseason) he played way better. I think at the moment he is unable to deal with situation of being almost alone on the right side and get something going on his own. Alves was the only one i remember who had no problem with this.
But maybe someone elese could explain why no else of the front row is moving towards RW if messi move towards the centre. I think Suarez should move there more often. There were several moments in the game when alle three stood in the way of each other....

serghei said it and it is what triggered this whole argument. 10-15 games should be actively used to promote players. with the term promote (not just younger player like Arthur) and players as plural used.

A team like Barcelona should use the 10-15 easy games in La Liga to actively promote players. Even a 20 year old player can be a hidden gem.

I didn't see the game on Saturday, did he deserve to get pulled at half?

He did. But Roberto and Rafinha also did at least as much.

Our right side is dead. With Dembele moved to LW and Messi drifting centrally, Bob and Semedo were left in space and excluded from play.

But that said, Semedo should've exploited the space on that side when he got the ball (there were some cross-field passes to him) with his pace, but he didn't, so, he was rightfully pulled.

I just feel he plays way better with Dembele on the right than with Messi(plays too centtrally) or Roberto who relies too much on passing back and forth.

The right side is totally the same as Lucho's last season. Totally dead.

Was just bad against Sociedad. One could easily blame the goal on him, lost his man, gave him all the time he needed while watching the ball. Going forward? 0, as usual.

Not one of his best games. I've seen much better from him. Looked out of sorts in the attacking third mostly because he wasn't able to connect well with Messi whenever he drifted out wide. Also had a couple misplaced passes. I was relieved when Sergi moved to RB in the second half because he himself was terrible in midfield. The guy's been in the first team for almost 6 years now and still looks clumsy as hell. It's kind of weird how he fits in better in a position other than his natural position. Instead of playing on either side of the diamond, i'd like to see him play at the base of midfield where Busi plays. Think he might be a better fit there.

Part of the blame can go to Roberto for conceding that dumb FK in the first place. Dude made a wrong pass and made a dumb clumsy challenge to save his own ass.

Not like Roberto did anything once he moved to RB that game. Well actually he did, he let La Real shred him once they moved to the flanks. It's actually funny when you think about it. If you had a coach with real authority Roberto would have been yanked off at HT as much as Semedo has.

Both had terrible games. But only one could've been taken off as we needed a RB. It was a stupid challenge altogether.

But this is not what one calls a good defensive reaction.

Pedro 2008-09 & 2009-10, 21 years of age
Busquets 2008-09, 20 years of age
Thiago Alcantara 2010-11, 19 years of age:
Jeffren, 2009-10, 21 years of age
Cuenca 2011-12, 20 years of age
Bojan, 2007-08 & 2008-09, 17-18 years of age

Let's see how many minutes these players got.

Pedro: 6 apps in La Liga at 21, 34 apps in La Liga at 22.
Busquets: 24 apps in La Liga at 20
Thiago: 12 apps in La Liga at 20
Jeffren: 12 apps in La Liga at 21
Cuenca: 16 apps in La Liga at 20
Bojan: 31 apps in La Liga at 18 years old, 23 apps in La Liga in the next season. So, to put this into perspective, Bojan at 20 years old had 54 matches in La Liga.

But now it's outrageous to ask 10 appearences for two Barca B players in total during a 38 games campaign.

Now minutes Barca B players got in La Liga under Valverde.

ZERO all around. Not a single Barca B player got any minutes during the full 38 games season, even though, get this, we won the title with around 8 games to spare. It's hilarious.

Yeah he made a mistake on that there's no one denying that.

But I do find it funny that you read articles on how Valverde is concerned about the defensive stability yet he still persists on playing the chuckle brothers in Roberto and Pique as our RB/RCB pair. One can't defend for shit and the other is nowhere near as good as he was back in the 2014/15 season.

The whole right side needs to be redone at this point. Our best dudes are out on the left such as Coutinho, Alba, Dembele and you have Umtiti there to cover and that's easily our best attacking and defensive area of the field and yet our right side consists of Messi who really isn't a fan of staying on the right, Rakitic not really that creative and Pique and Roberto who are both poor in regards to defending with Roberto being marginally decent going forward at this point.

I agree with you. But in Valverde's (or maybe the board's) defence, we had a lot of reserves that needed playing time.
To be able to get rid of them during the summer they needed playing time.
We had A LOT of deadweight, and to a large extent, we got rid of it.

Doubt this will be another season with 0 playing time for Barca B, and I don't include Aleña in those minutes since he's a first team player.

Look at how high the ball was, I don't understand what is Semedo supposed to do there, he kept the guy in an uncomfortable position to score a header from, what Roberto is doing is the real question here.
