Out of all the talents we have making a debut season, this is the one I'm most excited about. If he makes the necessary improvements, and has the correct character/mentality he could be a club legend.
When he was born there was a mistake in heaven and God sent him to Brazil instead of Catalonia, but don't worry he's back home now.

Calma, I was just pulling your leg. Hence the distinction with "in all seriousness".
You're right the hype is premature, but so are some of your appraisals at times (I understand sometimes its humor). For instance, encouraging RM to buy Thiago in that other thread so as to guarantee them no more CLs. The only question mark about Thiago is his disastrous injury record. Bayern more than held their own v RM's CL winning midfield machine last 2 encounters and Thiago was a major reason why.

I could reply that it was not because of Thiago but because of their good mix of technique, physical skills, some aggression, generally not being schoolboys and pushovers, decent mental strength, good team tactics.
Each team has so many levels and factors.
But we can always read stupid remarks from both sides:
This guy has Barca's Dna because of his passing.
Or, Rabiot doesn't have Barca's Dna.
As if one skill is all we need in football.
So, it works both ways.
It would be better if both sides would learn to take several factors in estimating a team and accept that all players use 10s of different skills and that everyone has lots of pros and cons.
Messi has pros and cons.
Cr7 has pros and cons.
Dembele has shown lots of pros in one season, but also lots of flaws and cons.
Arthur had shown lots of good things in 3 friendlies, but also several not so good things.
Luis has lots of pros and cons.
Rakitic has a lot of pros and cons.
Alena for now has a lot of pros and cons.
I have said lots of times that my posts are half serious, half exaggerating due to too positive view and hype on majority of our players and without too much critical analyzing.
The same as how people roll their eyes on my remarks: he is not tall enough, I am rolling my eyes on remarks: Fdj has everything (due to good technique, lol), RM won 4 Cls due to their midfield lol, we should find the new Xavi and play the same as in Pep's era.
So, over time, maybe we'll all learn something, and start to analyze several different aspects of each player like technique, physique, IQ, professionalism, experience, willingness and probabilities of a certain player to learn and to adapt to a new system, mental strength, aggression, being a fighter or slightly a thug etc.
Football is way more than being tall or having good passes.
But yes, BOTH help a lot in 100s of situations during a match.
Also, I hope that over time people won't lose nerves when you point negative sides of a player.
Since ALL players have lots of cons.
Someone will say: you are always negative.
Well, since 90% of fans act as if we are living on clouds and riding on rainbows and unicorns and everything is perfect, so some of us need to bring some criticism and negativity.
Imagine if we turn to Reddit where every player is perfect...

Why do you have to be so pragmatic all the time. Be a little romantic sometimes. Like Pep, he is both.
In the past 10 years? Really after like 3 friendly matches, thats a bit much don't you think?.

I remember when BBZ used to go on and on about players football IQ and would make judgments on them based on that. Neymar, Adama, Deulofeu, Pogba, Alba, Rakitic, etc. were all on his bad side because he would always talk about players with poor football IQ.
I don't know if it was the addition of Paulinho that changed this or if it started even earlier than that, but now he's dropped that completely in favor of muscles. Pretty convenient that players like Neymar and Dembele wouldn't be players he likes either way though

We'll see. I think he is though. Not that many talents at CM in world football. That's why you still have the likes of Modric being the best at 33. Real CMs are rare. Most are attacking type who like to go up a lot and score goals. Isco, Ozil, Asensio, Coutinho, Hazard etc.
At CM, even DM, the talent has been pretty dry in the past years.

Good news. Hope EV gives them the platform to show what they can do.
What i'd like to see from him is more forward passes. Imagine him being able to dictate play from deep like Pirlo. He already has some of those qualities.
