Paul Pogba

I wont believe this because it is just too good to be true. On a personal note, of all superstars available in the market Pogba is the one I wished we went for. He is a genius midfielder that will only be appraised in a team where CMs can play a vital role such as Inieata and Xavi. We dont counter, we control. It would be interesting to see how Pogba lives up to his name if he joins us

Interesting to see if he is actually trying to force a move, if it is Raiola or just all Media BS.

Pogba loves Manchester, he came back here and he see's it as home however i don't think Jose is his favourite person atm.

It all depends on what happens this season and if Jose is still in charge next year.

I am not sure Barca will be playing 433 this year under AV but if Coutinho were to play LW and Pogba LCM with Alba at fullback that would be unstoppable.

Pogba and Coutinho would link up so well and don't worry about this they would get in each others way madness, Neymar and Iniesta managed to share the inside left very well.

He is kind of seen as the talisman of United so for him to leave next year would seriously fuck us up.

say we sign Pogba for cash + Raki and Rakitic accepts the United move.. where does that leave our midfield?

--------Busi
Coutinho-Pogba --- with Bob, Vidal, Alena, possibly Puig and Arthur

Pogba and Coutinho cannot play together vs big teams; the Pogba we saw at the world cup will not be seen again this season, he was far more restricted and disciplined which was fine for the WC run but one of the main reasons he dislikes Moureen is because he wants to express himself more and at Barca we already have Coutinho for that. Arthur gives us midfield balance.

I've read (before this) alot of what United fans said about him and many times he was criticized for being half-ass'd/lazy getting back. Coutinho and Pogba would leave poor Busi gassed fending the midfield on his own

I'm hoping its a smokescreen of some kind and we move for De Jong, we could groom him into Busquets replacement

Have you thought about an Arthur Pogba Busquets midfield with Coutinho as a LW/LM? This is more logical imo

Messi is not a winger and can't play as a CAM due to his workrate either. He plays in the middle exclusively these days. He is more like a second striker behind a real CF, which Suarez is. Yet Suarez has become garbage. We should either buy a new CF next summer or play Messi as a false 9 until the end of his career. Could also try Malcom as a forward but I doubt he would be effective there.

That's why playing 4-4-2 and buying a world class striker next season is the only option we have.

No he shouldn’t. Take away ball from him and you will lose half of his ingeniousness. He should play behind striker and never as a pure CF or a false 9. When he is playing behind striker he is much more involved and his greatness is not just in providing goals but much more than that.

You are wrong, check the heat map of Messi for the last few seasons. Although he drops deep to collect the ball (free roaming role), he actually moved closer to the box after each season. And once he has strong midfiled of Coutinho, Arthur and maybe Pogba to feed him the ball, he dosn't need to drop to the midfiled.

False 9 doesn’t work anymore so we need a real CF and I am sure next summer we’ll buy someone for that spot.

false 9 doesnt work based on what?

likewise true 9 no longer works for us anymore

you guys when was the last time we played 4-3-3 with two wingers and false 9 and it failed.

Everytime false 9 failed we were playing with 4 midfielders
cesc xavi iniesta busquets with messi and another forward

With good midfield a fluid 4-3-3 is as viable as ever

This heat map actually doesn’t prove that at all. If anything it’s a proof that he is playing al over opponent’s half.

Come on mate this is not 2010. That system was not functioning even in Pep’s final year.

I guess I am alone in hoping we bring in Pogba. He would be the perfect signing if we could get him.

Contrary to popular opinion I actually find his personality refreshing and positive rather than cocky or arrogant. The guy loves music, dancing and hairstyles, big deal? He has leadership abilities, technical skills and great vision. He would also add flair to the midfield, which has been lacking.

The only reason our midfield looks congested is because we need to offload a bunch of fringe players still, most of whom who play on midfield.

I like Rafinha but he is too injury prone. So is Thiago, even though they both are excellent players. They are both inferior to Pogba, though. If anything this WC shows he has the capacity to rise to the challenge in the big games and we are all eager to once again rule Europe and get the trophy with the big ears.

Offload Samper, Rafinha, Gomes, D. Suarez. With Iniesta and Paulinho both gone, that would make the equation 4 midfielders out (Samper and Rafinha were both away on loan deals and are not included - 5 midfielders if we count Aleix Vidal as a midfielder last season)

We brought in Arthur and Arturo and promoted Alena. There is plenty of room to add Pogba and still being able to add a talent like De Jong next year.

Just my two cents.

I really hope barca doesnt buy him, he likes to hold the ball, be main figure in midfield, do fancy stuff rather to play it simple, i would keep rakitic instead, better worker on the field, and dembele, coutinho + messi, thats more then enough showmans in 1 team

rakitic's performance in the ucl these past few seasons warrant pogbas signing

just cannot trust this guy against the best midfields in the world. offers zero creativity

that performance he and mascherano put on against juventus when busquet was suspended still haunts me
