What doesn't kill you make you stronger. The defeat against Croatia will just make Leo's path to WC glory even more epic.

Hattrick for Messi against Nigeria.

You don't really believe that do you? After the dull showing against Iceland he looked even more lackadaisical against Croatia.

If he shows up with the same attitude against Nigeria I genuinely fear for his legacy as a footballer. People will remember it not just in Argentina, but around the World.

I don't know, man. Maybe I'm high now lol. If I have to answer then it's a yes. What I like about this beautiful game is that you don't know what will happen until the end. Who thought Messi could put in a masterclass and single handedly destroy a Madrid in top form after the CL exit against Juventus? Who thought Portugal could fluke their way to the Euro title?

Btw I think Messi played well against Iceland.

I think Messi should play upfront and not near mid field to have any impact..he is too static to come all the way to midfield and be the sole creator and the primary goal scorer which is the case with Argentina..But the problem with Argentina is that their midfield offers no service so am not sure where the solution is gonna come from!!

Agree with the part that Messi should play closer to goal. About the midfield problem I think Lo Celso and Banega with Mascherano behind might do the trick.

well thats whats expected..but thats probably not what would happen..considering the incompetence of Argentina..considering their tactic is to give the ball to the premier star and they still keep expecting that one person to deliver a WC to them :D

But what is wrong with his conditioning anyway? Someone like Lebron is 33 and is playing all 48 minutes, someone like Mandzukic, who is Messi age and is runing more than anyone in his team, always there to defend and attack. But since marathon runner Lucho joined, Messi can barely cover any distance, put on any pressure, he wasn't always like that, I expected in this world cup for him to go all out but he still isn't running at all...

Suarez is 31 and plays like he's 41, same with Rooney at 32 and since turning 30. Ronaldo in his 30s has basically adapted his game to goal hang and make the most of set pieces. These are all players with so many miles on the clock.

Messi slowing down past 30 has got the problem of declining club and country depending on him more rather than being able to help him out and allowing him to do less like Real can with Ronaldo.

People saying Messi needs to get going. How about sampaoli get going and pick a midfield who can feed Messi or the other players create when Messi is being marked by 3 players

ThwiX

Best midfielder around
Would still be better than the last one.
With the turd, Biglia, back in midfield with Masche and Rojo at LB. I’m almost tempted to disagree with that. At least that GK can’t do worse that grandpa Caballero. Question is, where the fuck is Lo Celso? Has a great season for PSG and shines for Argentina in friendlies just to get zero fucking minutes at the WC? WTF!
