Be sure, when Messi leaves this club, we.ll be back in the 2000 years...just don.t want to imagine what will be. Because we pay 150 m on 84th minute sub-players. Stupid management that destroyed this club. With the GOAT in team...what a shame.

That's the norm to be fair. What we have been witnessing over the past decade is actually a special case where both Madrid and Barca have a player that can lift the team every year. Look at all of the other big clubs, the best they can do is be consistent at winning their leagues (Juve and Bayern)

Andre 'kiss of death' Gomez. I'd be interested to see the goals for and against when he's been on the park during his time at Barca. As off the game as Iniesta may have been i'd take him over a fresh Gomez even if he'd played 180 minutes.

Barca weren't looking great in defence and in order to solidify things they should have reverted to their standard back 4 and thrown on Dembele in an effort to push Roma back. Barca's best defence has always been keeping possession and forcing the other team to defend.

This. But when you have middle-table-minded coach...what do you expect. Scared to play football. Came to defend a 3goal lead. He forgot that is UCL and teams just don.t forgive you. Oh wait, Valverde and UCL 0 experience.

Wow, what an embarrassment!!

It will be very hard to move on from here - now every game is a potential loss, with this weak mentality the team just showed. Where was the captains? Where was the fighting-spirit? Where was the changes of the team when we were dominated by Roma?

I would like to hear from you on how conservative football wins UCL

This wasn't a conservative football.

In my eyes:
1. Iniesta-Raki-Busi-Paulinho is a good/defensive midfield
2. Iniesta-Raki-Busi-Roberto/Dembele/Vidal (a winger and not a CM) is a different story
3. 433 is even more attacking

What we played tonight is not a GOOD defensive football.
This was a version of a defensive football which is not actually defensive.

We played 4 defenders, a CDM Busi, Raki in the middle and then: Iniesta a ghost physically, Roberto hogging a touchline, Luis and Messi invisible.

So, EV went from 442 with workhorses into playing 41100.
For some reason, he opted to play with only 7 players tonight in a crucial away CL match.

Some of his ideas were awesome.
Then he made 100s of new things and ruined those good things from early in the season.

Busquets' post-match interview

-It’s my most negative experience. We went out in a similar way last season.

- We’re out of the Champions League, which we didn’t want after a good result in the first leg... but that’s football.

- They took us to their place and created chances against us. We didn’t position ourselves well, that’s why they won and we didn’t.

- They were the better team and for them, it was almost a case of all or nothing. The worst blow of my Barca career? Probably, yes. We came into the game from a very good run of form, but unfortunately this has cut all our good work.

- Valverde’s decisions? Our approach is to do with everyone on the pitch. We have to go for all the trophies we have left.

- It wouldn’t be a bad season if we won them, but it’s been tarnished by what happened here in Rome.

Iniesta's post-match interviews

- It’s a painful defeat because we didn’t expect it, given the lead we had.

- We didn’t adapt [to the match] and we’re disappointed to have been eliminated. We had hopes [of winning the CL] and they’ve been dashed.

- They were very clear about how to attack us and we didn’t find the solution [to stop them].

- My last CL game for Barca? It's possible, but tonight isn’t the right time to give out such messages.

- We’re all hurt. It’s not a question of asking for forgiveness, things go for you or they don’t, but our desire to win is always the same.

- We’ll do our best to win the two competitions we have left.

First time to watch Barca I see? Yes, this is what usually happens. Our team is extremely mentally weak to the point that they throw away the league after getting knocked out of the champions. They are bunch of unprofessional inexperienced ungrateful selfish money sniffers

It's worse than I though... Valverde actually made it sound like Roma was unbeatable today, and it was nothing else we could do.

I just realised how old the starting team was tonight.

Bar a couple of players, most of the team are close to 30, are 30 or over 31. That's a scary thought.

This Barcelona team on paper is not good. Ter Stegen is good, but he also makes mistakes. Alba isn't a great fullback.... he's decent at getting forward, but he's not world class. Pique has never been good or consistent enough to be a Barcelona starter. Umtiti has potential, but he's going to lose confidence playing alongside those players. Sergi should never be a fullback.... and Semedo hasn't proved his worth yet.

Now on to the worst part about Barcelona.... the midfield. You have inconsistent Busquets, who hasn't performed for like 2 years now. Rakitic is not good enough, and he clearly is declining. Iniesta is past it. Paulinho has done decent season, but we all know he shouldn't have been bought at all this season.

Dembele never gets a proper chance, which I don't know why. He has potential, but he's not going to get better if he never starts. Suarez is definitely declining.... and he's clearly lost his fire he had 3 years back. Yeah, Messi was bad tonight. But I can never blame him, because he's done so much for us.... and you can't expect him to carry that Barcelona to team to next round.... and should he need to when we was 4-1 up?

Valverde just proved tonight why he isn't the man for the job. He's done those tactics far too much this season.... and it actually bit him in the ass big time tonight.

Not with this s**t

The only mistake from EV is too much defending, while you know busi is not in a good condition at all, and Iniesta, as our main attacking engine, together with Messi, had lost considerable amount of stamina. None of this will happen if Iniesta were 3 years younger and Bob is 100% fit.

Still.. bus parking is not our identity. We'd play far better and could even qualify if it was only 1-0 win in camp nou, we would play our own game, not this 'ready to die anytime' attitude.

EV is still a tactic master, but he must realize that Barca is not designed as a castle defending club.

We could still grab the other two prizes, though. La liga is already in our hand, and EV will go all out attack vs Sevilla at final copa.

EV made a tactical blunder tonight. You could argue he made several.
Congrats to Roma.

His inability to change things at 2-0 down is unacceptable to say the least.
Bringing on Gomes was bizarre. I’m still trying to understand what possessed him to do that

Just sack Valverde. Can’t remember the last time we played Barca ball and actually were entertaining to watch.
