Being favorite doesn't win you games. Don't expect Bayern or City winning against Madrid over 2 legs. Jupp's Bayern is stronger than Carlo's, but I don't see them advancing vs. this team. City has a great season but I don't see them beating this Madrid. The only team I trust to do that is Barça.

Bayern and manc are favorites ahead of RM and they both will win over 2 legs against RM as things stand. Bayern is incredibly good and is playing good too and manc is otherworldly this season. Rm haven't been playing that well the whole season and if a fixture ever arises then the team with better form will have more chances of win and going by that bayern and manc defnitely can win and have more chances.

You could maybe make a case for bayern being a bit below RM but manc? No way.

I could see City beating Real in the semis. Much will depend on the draw - Bayern is the weaker team of the 4 favourites, but City obviously has the least chance (of the 4) of going through right now.

How can you put city as the weakest of the 4? City is in mind bending form not just now but whole season. They are crazy good.

I wouldn't put my money on anyone else but us to beat them, hence why if we pass Roma, drawing Madrid will be by far my number one choice in the semis.

For the past two years we have had to sit by and hope the likes of Juve, Bayern, Atletico, City etc...will be able to put Madrid into the ground. And while these teams are capable of beating Madrid, I'd much more confident of our experience playing them and our motivation to knock them out of this competition over the likes of Bayern or City.

Deluded.

I wonder if you'll keep saying Real Madrid are shit even after they'll win their 3rd CL in a row.

He is deluded, don't worry. If Real get City in SF and advance to the final, he will say they are shit too.

Now, only Barca can knock out Real Madrid but it will be a very hard match/tie for both teams. 50/50 if it's Barca vs Real
If it's Real vs Bayern I can see 65/35 for Real.
And if it's City, 60/40 for Real.

PS: FCBfan22 , sorry, I wanted to quote Stoichkov1 post, not yours. :p

Actually, I think City is quite a tough oponent for Real. If they apply their constant pressure (Pep's signature) they could break, because their backline isn't as strong as it used to be.

What worries me is that City's players lack the experience in CL and will likely crumble under pressure. So, in that matchup I would give Real 55% chance of advancing.

You may be right, but don't forget Real f*cked Juve in Cardiff because they pressed too much and they lost all of their energy after first half.

City is used to that and has younger players, who are actually capable doing that for the whole game. But, that said, we all saw hat Liverpool did to them in PL in that 4-3 defeat when they crumbled...

Agree about that, but in my opinion only Barca can knock Real Madrid out.

I can't even imagine Ronaldo being marked by John Lord Stones

Real Madrid are favorites by some distance. No idea what Neymessi is going on about.

The next 1 or 2 teams that Real will face in this competition will be far better than Juve (assuming Roma doesn't advance), but they have still been the most dominant team in the CL and play with more confidence and motivation than other teams do. They ripped PSG and Juve apart without much struggle at all.

should be plenty of motivation for our old guard in messi, iniesta, pique, busquets.

these 4 have been together through historic wins against madrid, who in the same period have had maybe 1 or 2 heavy defeats. I can only remember the 4-0 atletico and 4-1 dortmund in last 10 years, outside of our wins.

Real have the edge with their superior squad but we can do it IMO.

I only said that City is the one with the least chance of even getting to the semis: Real lead 3-0, Bayern leads 2-1 and we face Roma, while City face their worst opponent from PL - that's why right now City has the least secure place in the semis..

With regards to the overall favourites to win, I still think we and Real has a better chance than both City and especially Bayern (who hasn't even proved themself against a top-class team this season!)..

Don't even agree on City over Bayern. Bayern was the last non-Spanish team to win the CL which must have been in 12/13. They are a different team now but Heynckes has shown that they are far better than they were under Ancelotti. Their core is very experienced too.

City on the other hand plays more or less a perfect season in England but I don't see them on Bayern's level. I'm not a big fan of Pep's teams in knockout-stages tbh. He is a great coach for the daily bread-job called domestic championship. Sure, he was great with Barça and the creator of the probably best team ever, but I'm not impressed by his international record, especially against Spanish clubs. How great this City team may be, they lack experience on that level which other clubs bring to the table.

For me chances are very very high that again a Spanish side will win CL this year. I don't see what other teams have in advance to beat them. Every team brings a strong squad to the table, but none of the others has someone who can compete with Messi and CR. They are a level above and make the difference, even on this very high level.
