11 - Ousmane Dembélé - V1

Too much pressure on this guy.

Check his price tag...that was always going to be the case.

I think people are making too many excuses for him now, if he was playing better, he’d get more match time. Only fault I give Valverde is maybe he’s got Dembélé on too tight of a rope, let him have a mistake here and there.

Has any credible source published anything about Dembele having a bad lifestyle? Like a journalist with a good reputation?

Two of them (Las Palmas and Asspanyol) don't count as proper games. That's why its BS. But ofc you're a Valverde apologist so you don't see it.

Doesn't matter. It clearly denies your 'benched week in week out' statement.

Thing is, and my main point, Valverde's under constant attack way too early. How many games are there that he was fit and didn't get to play? Atletico? Anything else?

I would've started him vs. Las Palmas myself, won't defend it.

EV AND Dembele need time. I hope it'll be worth it.

We should take his statements on things as sensitive as this more carefully

If there was a problem with his life off the field and attitude, the last thing the club or the coach would want is media murmuring about it

As some here often say, he's young and it could hurt his confidence
They do this to try to destabilize him because if he was not a huge potential player, you will not hear all those vultures spin around him.

He has great potential, that's for sure.

You would if the stories were true. I hope they are not.

Rubbish today! Didn't even last 65 minutes, no one is talking about it coz the plastics on here didn't even watch the game!

Thanks for the memories Dembele but it's time to go! We will be lucky to get half of what we paid for him.

So yeah lets replace him with Di Maria then ehh?

Dembele is the worst signing in Barcelona history.

Imagine we with Hazard for that much money and I imagine we could have and he gave us a goal return like this? People would be going after him worse than Gomes!

Even Paulinho puts Dembele to shame, it's time to go!

No I want a proper right mid since we are paying 4-4-2. Di Maria the ship sailed when Ernersto became our manager and we no longer play 4-3-3. Give me Dybala , Thausin, Wass or Sarabia over him any day
Even Bernardeschi will do better!

Nice that you confirm yourself to be a joke character. Worst signing in Barcelona History? Jesus fucking christ.

No anti-Dembele agenda on this forum.

There's no agenda he is just shit what does he offer that's so unique? I can think of better dribblers, faster players, better thinkers better players!

The only agenda on here is Anti Valverde after he just won us a trophy one trophy of many this season!

Nice that you confirm yourself to be a joke character. Worst signing in Barcelona History? Jesus fucking christ.

By far the worst, the Espanyol game confirmed it for me, I will be very suprised if Ernersto starts him again this season he gets a 0/10 from me, he did nothing right in an easy game. He cannot he trusted for anything. He was disgusting no excuse for playing the way he did should have come off earlier during half time.

What is your problem?

He's a direct-dribbler in the same vein of an Arjen Robben, of course he's going to lose the ball when he's directly attacking the enemy lines in an attempt to unravel it. I could literally scour YT and find highlights of every great dribbler, past or present, losing the ball. When the hell did that start becoming a cause for serious concern until now? Or does Messi have a 100% dribble completion rate?

His "two good actions" (it was more, but whatever) > losing 10 balls

His attitude is down to the fact that he's not only had an unfortunate debut season that has been plagued with injuries, but also the fact that it occurred in a World Cup year, when he looked destined to be a France starter heading into the 2017-18 season. He's acting like every player, young or old would, if they faced the exact same circumstances that have been bestowed upon. The fact that you refuse to acknowledge this is either down to your mere lack of intelligence, or due to the fact you're just being disingenuous and have some weird grudge against this guy for whatever reason.

Edit: And since when was he scouted for his otherworldly finishing before the goal? He's a dribbler and a playmaker, first and foremost.

Of course that dribblers and guys who try to create (risky) will lose balls.

The difference is whether a player:
Has 1 vs 10 success vs lost balls ratio.
Has 5 vs 10 ratio.
Has 10 vs 5 ratio.

2 good actions (without end product) and 10 lost balls is quite bad ratio for me.

>So a 20 year old is set in his ways and cannot change his game to defend more after coming to a big club. Makes sense. Again he can't defend any worse than Paulinho if he tries.

>If Valverde has such a hard on for defense then he should grow some balls and ask Messi and Suarez to defend. Seniors should lead by example.

>Well if Coutinho can't defend why shouldn't he be benched for one of your workhorses? Why pick and choose an argument to favor Coutinho over Dembele?

>Dembele's partnership with Semedo looks promising. They can work it out how to defend our right flank.

Look, we can all agree that Messi doesn't need to defend.
He can save his strength for attacking.

One of Dembele's problems is the same as when Messi played a RW.
When Messi didn't defend, our RB was often in 1 vs 2 situations versus opponents LM and LB.
So, today, when Messi in his free role isn't defending, that is not a huge and direct problem for any part of our defense.
But if Dembele, as a RM in 442, doesn't defend, that is a huge problem for RB Sergi Roberto.
For example, imagine Barca:Real and Messi-Suarez attack and Dembele as a RM.
If Dembele is not defending, they will kill us in 2 vs 1. (Ok, Dembele will be dangerous in counters if Marcelo stays in attack, but still...)

Again, against weaker teams defending is not a problem and if Dembele will play well, he should be a starter.
But for tougher matches, he has to learn a lot and improve a lot of things, defending is one of them.

Of course he is going to have a attitude, oh I didn't play again las Palmas or Valencia, but you are going to play me in the catlan cup, gtfho.

If it were me and Id be like u kidding me right now right, so I have no issues with his attitude.

140m worth of player than anyone with a eye and brain can see is insanely talent and this is how you do me, he is being treated like he was munir.
