Neymar Jr. - v5

Wtf lol had neymar informed barca we would have got less than 222 m for him? Are they crazy or what? Why would they let him leave for even a cent less than his buyout?

It makes alot sense, first of all we would have been able to negotiate deals with upcoming players for alot less. Lets say Ney tells, he wants to leave, his decision is final. PSG and Barca negotiate and make a deal of around 170 mil or so, without making it public. We have always let players leave if they want, dont see why we should have treated Ney different.
As we already know it will happen, we will quickly try to find a replacement. Lets say Dembele. Without us selling Neymar for 222 mil publicly, I am 100% convinced, Dortmund would have not asked for the sums they did, so we may have ended up buying him for 70-80 mil etc.

Doesnt work like that.

Dortmund would have been fully aware that Neymar was leaving or strong possibility and the huge amounts involved.

Would be ridiculous for Barca to negotiate a lower fee for Neymar than his buy out.

Yes, Dortmund has spies everywhere and it does work like that, could have even been a 3-way deal like Arsenal/Chelsea/Dortmund pulled. Also, players get sold under their buyout value all the time, we are not the type of club like PSG, who keep the players if they do not want to play here.

It doesnt and Dortmund dont need 'spies'.

There is no way a deal like Neymar to PSG goes through and no one knows about it outside of the club. Never happens.

Of course players are sold below their buy outs.... any team selling those players when buying team are prepared to pay it are idiotic.

I never said it will be total shock, I am saying that if its clubs negotiating, noone will know what sums you are talking about and if there are any other conditions involved, unlike with club stating his buyout is 222 mil, pay it or fck off.
Who knows, maybe PSG would have tried involving some players like Draxler or Di Maria or Verrati to get the amount down etc, most of times there are reasons to negotiate.
Lets say we would have negotiated and it would have been swap deal Verrati for Neymar + some money. Still think Dortmund would have asked for 130 or whatever the fck amount they asked?

Folk will know the sums involves and all Dortmund need to do is wait until Neymar deal goes through if unsure and makes situation even worse for Barca.

The club did the correct thing and they had to pay the clause.

You are also helping out PSG and perhaps allowing them to sign Neymar when otherwise would not pay his 222m clause.

You just said before that any club willing to sell below buyout if other team is ready to pay it is dumb, now you claim you need to be also mindreader to understand if they are willing to do it? Dunno, maybe you have different philosophy in your life, but negotiations are usually best ways to solve any issues, including a player wanting to leave a club.
If you negotiate, you can a) make an alternative deal and not get exposed to inflation on the market
b) negotiate a swap deal for player you have tried to lure into club for several years (Verratti)
c) see that neither option a) or b) work out, so just tell them to fck off and pay the buyout

If you do not negotiate, you will only end up with option c) and looking how things went, I am not so sure at all it was the right way.

What? Mindreader?

I am saying any club willing to sell a player for less than buy out when buying club willing to pay it are idiotic. 100%.

Negotiating Neymars fee down would have been terrible decision. That is an awful 'philosophy' to live by.

PSG were never going to sell Verratti. Naive to even think it. Those negotiations would take place if PSG were not willing to pay his buy out. Which they were.

How much should Barca have sold Neymar to PSG for?

He has defnitely been the best international player and at close range probably the best fk taker too recently.

Don't be that guy who looks at his international trophies which he doesn't have many and conclude stuff. Look at his individual performances, he is arguably the best.

What are you on about. I said if you negotiate, you have more options then if you do not. You can always BACK OUT from negotiations if it is not working your way. How can this be worse then just refusing to negotiate. Do not get it.
Everything you say about Verratti is hypothetical and will always remain that way as Neymar never allowed us to negotiate.
As for last question, for 222m if no other deal was available.

The club did the correct thing because we were lucky neymar snaked on us. Had neymar told them the truth they would have let him go for lesser, as words from jordi mestre claim.

You dont negotiate on a player you dont want to sell.

What are you on about?

Dont have more options as Verratti was never leaving. They did not need to include Verratti to get the deal done and very probably Neymar refuses to go there if Verratti involved anyway.

You want to negotiate a lower fee than his buy out. Great idea.

What amount should they have sold him for?

If you are looking at individual performance he is not even third best in conmebol . I am sure you are among those bandwagon people who believe that Neymar is a better international player because of Brazil's sucess and hasn't followed conmebol football keenly other than highlight reels

Had Neymar gone for lesser, we would have also gotten new players for less.
