Luis Suárez

I dont understand why he is credited with the goal, surely its Piques. Or does it not matter if it was on target already ?
I dont get it either. Usually if a player toughes it it becomes their goal. Even if the shot is on target. That would mean, Pique somehow scored a legit handball.

he gets the credit cause the shot was towards the target ,same when u shoot into an opponent and it goes in but it's not an og since the opponent was in the dirrection of the goal.

Don't give a fuk how many goals he's scored atm, he's getting away with consistently shit performances by scoring flukey goals/goals put on a plate. Zero pace, can't beat a man, lives offside, thinks he can run through players when there are better options.

I wish by the end of the season it's a front three or Messi, Dembele and Coutinho with Iniesta, Rakitic and Busquets in the middle, with Rakitic being replaced in the summer by a proper wideman, eventually dropping Coutinho into his position.

If he keeps up his goal per game performances, I don't have a problem with his occasional turning into a donkey.

That's just it, he ruins the eb and flow of the side. Without him Messi looked like a man on a mission in the early stages of this season, ever since Suarez came back he's dropped deeper and almost feels obliged to pass to his best mate, whilst Suarez has overtaken Villa as the man who lives offside.

Messi has been better with him in the side.

In your example it would be a suarez goal. But I think the rule is different when it comes to a teammate. Last player of your team touching it before it goes in gets credited with the goal. Remeber this Peoe goal for example: https://m.youtube.com/watch?v=i1INyoJtXek

By your logic it would be a ronaldo goal but despite what he or marca says officialy its a pepe goal.

Think many forget how tough it is to play against a player of Suarez caliber. He isn't shy from being physical and moves between lb-cb and 2 cbs. Think he adds a lot to our game eventhough he lost some of the edge and pressing. GL finding such a player in next 10 years and one that is a Barca fan.

While I agree, you can't drop someone scoring goals at a rate of knots. That would be stupid... Earlier in the season I was all for sending him to the wolves though.

No we don't. We have Messi...

All that said, I'm not going to lie... The squad is coming together nicely, we have a good mix of players, apart from a deep lying playmaker. Valverde's problem is Messi and Suarez in the same 11.

Messi and Suarez are top 1 and 2 scorers in Liga with 20 and 16 goals. Why is that a problem for Valverde?

Because both of them needing/wanting (whichever tickles your fancy) to play through the centre causes balance issues when putting a side together now that Coutinho is here and Dembele waiting to make a comeback. Without Coutinho and Dembele finding that balance was easy because Valverde could flood the midfield with 2 workhorses and have the fullbacks provide the width.

With an in form Iniesta, a Coutinho and a Dembele finding that balance is not possible with both Messi and Suarez playing. You either drop one of Messi or Suarez or you only play 1 of Iniesta, Coutinho and Dembele.

That shit show against Alaves made evident what many of us have been saying for a while... Any 2 CM midfield system (4-2-3-1, 4-4-2 Flat) is not going to work with any 2 of Iniesta, Coutinho and Dembele.
