Paco Alcácer

He's doing the job Suarez is suppose to be doing despite not playing anywhere near as much as Suarez has.

Certainly says a lot about Suarez right now. A guy like Paco who hardly played at all this season can start and have a decent positive impact+scoring two goals while Suarez keeps getting chance after chance to get his shit together but he still fails to do so.

Happy for him, always believed he has quality to be good squad player for us and was disappointed when he didn't continue from where he left last season, hopefully this will be good for his confidence

He is a classic striker. If you feed him with good balls he will score a reasonable amount of goals. He never was that bad as people here made him. He is just not the perfect solution as a striker for a club like ours and it is hard to deliver when you rarely play.

He scored "many" goals for Valencia if you take into consideration how fucked up they were at that time.

He's exactly what we need as a back-up striker. He scores goals with low amount of playing time. Guy didn't play a lot, gets in and bags two in a derby game we had to win. Respect. Then he gets subbed by clueless Valverde and shows no bad attitude. I like the guy.

He's getting less and less cancerous

What is with that stupid joke? Read it yesterday on chat"Alcancer" Every player that is not on your desired level has to have some stupid nickname, his own army of haters here, im glad he kept you silent yesterday.

How can he be "cancerous" if he hardly plays? Lets be honest about paco, he never had a chance to prove that he is a great option for barca in attack, under lucho gameplay was chaotic and from time to time paco would play, now he didnt play for like a month? Looked like only player capable of scoring goal, he deserve to start next game, but he will probably not due to valverde, and he will play maybe some match in the meantime, and if he does not perform "paco haters" will have their day.

Agree with that, last season he showed a lot of promise in 2nd half when he started playing more time and had more understanding of the team play, was really disappointed when he was put on EV doghouse

I think the reason for him being in EV doghouse is simply Paco was not in good shape himself when Suarez got injured earlier this season. A couple of another shit performances by Luis Suarez might change the status quo.

Few problems - Paco is inconsistent player at Barcelona, disappears in most matches and has very little chemistry with Messi. Last night both goals were assists by Suarez (kind of:lol:) and Rakitic. He still cannot read Leo's game, unexpected passes which catch him sleeping, it happened before. He just slips in these situations when Barce play against "parked bus" defence.

Don't mean to shit on Paco after he secured us points last night but don't you guys think Munir could have done a solid job as backup as well. Or some other youngster? We did pay 30 million for him after all and he is marginally (if that) better than kids we had/have or other backup options that were there.

No Paco is a much better player than Munir who is too weak to play CF. Like Bojan was but worse.

30m price tag maybe a different argument but Paco is better back up than likes of Munir or Sandro easily.

Only Paco has to play more as RF now and Munir is more versatile and has more team chemistry. Don't think the difference is that big but I do like that Paco seems to improved his off the ball and defensive game.

Dont think Munir is more versatile.

Paco looked better than him playing wider at Valencia and has done for Barca.

Munir is nowhere near goo enough for Barca. He is like a little boy that gets bullied. Paco has is faults but is the better back up and for me it isnt even close.

Agree Paco has improved his defensive side of game although always worked hard which to be fair Munir does also.

In order to improve, a player needs to get some minutes and at least in my opinion, Paco definitely deserves more than what he is getting this season, especially having in mind Suarez's condition. He has like 160-170 minutes or something in Li Liga this season, having scored twice and yes, sometimes he does not make the right choices, but also how many time yesterday he was in our own half on the right defending, which is something he is normally not best at ...

I really think that he will be the way better option than Suarez right now (hell, maybe every attacker in La Liga would be right now). He needs minutes, to score goals, to get his confidence back and to be involved more to get in the squad properly, then we can talk and see if there is good chemistry and if he is good enough to be our back up ...

Also, if he gets more minutes and maybe start scoring, Suarez will no longer be sure that he will play no matter how shit he is on the pitch. At the start of the season I was understanding the fact that Suarez needs minutes to get back at his best, but now I think that he just needs to give much more off the pitch, on training and in the fitness ...

Paco got way back on defense several times. Losing Neymar has diminished the defensive work from the forwards, so this contribution is quite welcome. If Paco can be the best defender at forward, he will merit regular playing time even when he is not scoring.
