Marco Verratti

The issue is not that he is playing in the French league. It is because he is playing in a very good team that he cannot improve himself anymore. He has not been challenged. However, he is still a quality player, but I hope we do not try to get him next year. Same for Coutinho. Barcelona comes only once. Time for Saul, I believe.

Saul is the one that I really want, it is going to be very tough to get him since he has about eight years left in his contract.

Smart move by Verratti to stay in the french league, wont come up against many top midfielders there, so he can dominate against scrub sides with ease.
Verratti is a very good player, ofc, but he have it so easy in France, maybe he is getting complacent.

I don't get what people see in him that would make him our 'saviour'. maybe i dont get to see him enough as i dont watch Ligue 1 but dominating there wouldn't really impress me. i cant remember him doing much of note in the CL/big games when i've watched him.

youtube compilation but fair point you got me there

all hail our saviour :worthy:

but seriously, I think he needs to dominate and lead PSG to a CL before we even think about him being the heir to Xavi, hes got the players in Neymar and Mbappe now. i guess its a pointless discussion anyway as no chance Nasser will free him.

for some reason i always picture him in the white of Madrid one day.

He was pretty bad in 6-1 game, he didn't dominate shit and YouTube tells only one little part of the story. YouTube is never a reliable source even Deulofeu looks like fucking Ronaldo there.

Sorry but I can't remember one big game where he was spectacular neither for Itally or PSG. He is overrated in this forum and that is the fact. He is a great player I would love to have him here but he for sure isn't the only solution for all of our problems. He still needs to prove himself in big games to be in the level of Modric or Xavi in his prime.

If we wan't to replicate Xavi-Busi-Iniesta midfield Verratti is not enough. The closest thing would be Verratti-Busi-Coutinho but even than it would not function as well as Xavi-Busi-Iniesta since those 3 played together for years and they were all raised in La Masia.

Need to make sure that dosen't happen. Sack the stupid board and sign Verrati next summer 1st priority!

Isco did destroy him. It's not salty or overreaching to say it because it's a fact. The sheer amount of times Isco dribbled past him is incredible, let alone how well it was done. Verratti wasn't helped to a good performance due to the tactics but it's undeniable that Isco owned him.

It's not even that unexpected. Great players can dominate all the time especially if it's two non-defensive players in a duel. It's akin to Messi destroying Modric on the dribble at least a couple of times every Clasico these past few years. Of course Modric can't guard Messi, he's amazing. Doesn't mean Modric is bad or underwhelming in his role. If Verratti was deployed under the right tactics in that game I don't think it'd be surprising to see Verratti put up a good all round controlling performance but still get owned by Isco on the dribble at least a handful of times. Isco is a special talent especially in tight space dribbling.

It's also fair to say that Isco has grown into the same tier 1 status of midfielder that Verratti is in, over the past year. It's not unsurprising to see any of those midfielders viciously beat the others in duels depending on the situation and weight of advantages.

Only way Verratti ever leaves is if the Qataris abandon PSG.

We'd have more luck trying to buy Madrid players. They at least have buyout clauses.

PSG is the one club you can't force your way out of.

Sign Verratti next summer?!?!?!?!?!?!?! WTF????????????

Some people will never learn.

sorry mate but he is 2 much of a good fit to give up. im fully aware of what happend with him this summer but we should at least try he is the perfect replacement for Xavi. Like I said he should be 1st priority (not only priority..) if not we can always go for some 1 else.

Suddenly he is overrated because he lost match vs spain ,spain which played with 6 midfielder players, put xavi in that italy squad and he wont do better, how come busquets looked awesome again in that match, iniesta also, because they have system, system which bring best of those players, for example modric was criticized because of his performances for national team, veratti is closest player to xavi was once and modric you can get
