Neymar Jr. - v5

Actually that is very naive perspective, the board has tried to lure Verratti PSG and now will -if rumors are true- lose Neymar to them. We lose years of marketing of the club, the board is already underfire, RM won 3 in 4 and there is a vote of no confidence coming.
They will have to spend more than 222. You are talking from the logic of how board treat Barca, not how the board protect themselves.
Rosell went for Neymar when we were under crisis after 7-0 humiliation, the board went for Suarez and other big signing after no trophies in 2014 in order to save their asses.
This will be the biggest crisis they ever had, after getting humiliated against Juve, humiliated from PSG, RM winning everything. The board will have to save themselves.
Big spending are coming, probably more than 222

The Coutinho and Dybala rumors already in full force out there today, one step closer to my prediction. As I said, panic buy blindly for a big name. And their interest in Paulinho has been real, not just due to Neymar. Robert is in love with Paulinho and he has been the main choice aside from Verratti of the sporting directors for almost a month now. This 220m influx of cash will incentivize them to pay the buyout. They haven't backed down on a transfer they wanted even once unless the selling team outright rejected and we had no power to circumvent them.

What makes you think they'll suddenly spring up with this whole host of new targets?? They've barely been able to come up with any so far and their judgement won't improve now. Dybala and Coutinho are two of the big names linked to us and Barca will latch themselves onto them. The board have this foolish idea that either of those two would adequately replace Neymar or put us in any better of a position going out of the saga. At no point have they had a plan or even understanding of what they'd do to spend big this summer. They got us a RB, wanted Paulinho and Verratti. Prior to Verratti was the Coutinho phase and Dybala seems to also have had regular links with us, Dembele as well. I think Dembele would've been a good choice that they might have made, but I'll assume BVB will tell us to fuck off for this summer at least. I think they'll pursue Dybala as Ney's replacement and push Liverpool (foolishly, with no success) for Coutinho until August 31st, just as their grand plan was to do for Verratti before PSG told us to fuck off and he hired Raiola. If they insisted on Marco until the last minute as they themselves said they would, then we would've ended up with Paulinho as our only final transfer. Now, if Ney leaves, it'll be something like Dybala + Paulinho and try/fail to get Coutinho. I think it's very unlikely to end up as more than that, and they'll be fine with having spent something like 70% of the Neymar fee on Dybala and Paulinho.

What you're trying to do is claim that their plan is any more than what I have listed with 0 evidence to suggest so. What I've said is going to happen is completely based on all the evidence of their transfer movements historically this summer and up to this current moment. If you do think there's more to happen, please provide suggestions and evidence/reasoning about why it's plausible.

Paulinho, panic buy Dembele, try+fail to get Coutinho.... Replace Dybala with Dembele and my prediction is basically correct. Almost as if the writing on the wall was clear the whole time

They were never gonna reinvest the 222M successfully or totally. Now all it'll take is 1 more day of rejections from Liverpool and the Summer of L's will be sealed. Total and utter failure of a window.

We signed Dembele for 105M + 42 bonus
We signed Paulinho for 40M
We made an offer that was reported by every media outlet for Coutinho that is worth 130M + 30M add on.
The board tried to spend 275M + 72M bonus after Neymar deal. We were "FSG not being stubborn" away from spending that total, hell if by some miracle they changed their mind in the next 20 hours we will be spending that.
Considering that I didn't say the board is competent, or smart. But they will spend money to save their asses. I am the one who was actually proven right, not you

"Neymar holds the ball too much, and Coutinho solves it".

I literally said this at the time; if their previous plan was just to sit and wait on Verratti until August 31st like they would've (until Raiola), then their plan after Neymar leaving would just be:

1. A Neymar replacement
2. Another impossible Verratti substitute target that they would keep sitting on until August 31st and keep getting rejected (Coutinho)
3. Paulinho, their long term consistent target

I only predicted that Dybala would come rather than Dembele, as I said then I expected Juve to fold and BVB to tell us to fuck off. A coin toss I suppose.

Through their incompetence and lack of intelligent will to succeed, they did not spend more than around 70% of the Neymar fee after losing him to QSG exactly as I predicted. You said big spending was coming and that MORE than 222m would be spent. I said that their plan was always too stupid to actually spend big and properly rebound the squad after Neymar's loss, which made it a bad deal and has proven to screw us over as expected.

Now you're saying that well big spending was INTENDED. I never said they were unwilling to just throw money, only that they wouldn't do it smartly or persist enough to end the window spending enough to improve the squad. It doesn't matter they were some "stubborn FSG away from signing Coutinho" for fat stacks, that's what they were gonna do with Verratti and chill until August 31st anyway. That's not a plan. That's just fucking lazy and dumb. They're content with what they've done, and they'll invest the rest in the stadium or something and may even come out to say this themselves. Otherwise they would've been more desperate and ended up executing on something. You compared this situation to when they spent big in summer 2014, which clearly hasn't been the case and that summer happened to be their best ever transfer window. Nowhere in the writing was that prediction correct.

Khalid like jamdav cannot be right about anything re this board & the running of the club, they have backed them to the high heavens for years now & only now when it's clear even to a blind man, that they are a bunch of fools, that they have started to take more reasonable view points on them.

But DON was right they basically ended up with a neymar replacement & horse shit for 40m,so spending the money & having the competence to spend it wisely are two different things, even if they end up sending 300m.

But ultimately I am right like I often times am lol.from day 1 I told everyone on the barca forum this would all happen.

I said they are still living on the legacy of Laporta, Tito(don't like him,) Luis (another I don't like),Laporta legacy. They just didn't have someone like Laporta to say, hey you can't destroy our midfield & masia in your Chase for the cups.

These idiots allowed them to do so.

I said at time once the laporta effect where's off, you will start to see how truly incompetent they are, so said, so done.

The only wins this board as on any level and I go back to the rosell days is signing neymar, Suarez & umtiti.

On the financial level, which is what they were suppose to be gods at,they lied to make things look worst than they were, couldn't get a decent sponsor when we were at out all time best, and are now trying to rebuild a stadium we cannot afford and that will being ruination to the club if it takes places where they are in charge.

So yeah right from day 1

If anyone really thinks that the entire 220 million euros from his transfer fee would be reinvested into transfers, I'd say they're being naive. At most I see them reinvesting about 60-70% of it into the sporting project and the rest on side projects like Espai Barca. They're so paralyzed with indecision on who to target, especially when they were getting handed rejections from both PSG and Guangzhou Evergrande. They'll probably use the surplus to fund the buyout on Paulinho, as they've never once shown to give up on a target unless they can't convince the club or pay a buyout (like Verratti and Bellerin). After that, they'll panic with the post-Neymar pressure and the fat sack of money they have, shit the bed, and spend it on some flashy big name player that doesn't line up with the actual needs of the team, like Coutinho or Dybala.

I am sorry, but your first post that I replied to says something different than your current reply. If you thought initially that rest of money is gonna be paid for other non-sport like Espai-Barca. that sound to me that you didn't think they intend to spend the whole money, unlike what you claim now.
That was my whole argument about and I made it very clear than this isn't defending the board, but it is about the board being in deep fuckin crisis and they will have to over spend to save their asses. If you thought that they will intend to spend big then you didn't explain yourself very well and there is no disagreement here

1-You can spell my name right, that will be appreciated
2-Good for you that you have been right, too bad there is no medal for that
3-You can say all what you want about their financial capability, but this aspect improved drastically over Laporta days. It was never his area of strength and they have improved it.
4-I was -and still- one of Laporta biggest fans in this forum. And I had endless arguments about him. But life is never black or white, it is in between. Rosselll was a disaster but Barto actually improved the club drastically after him. He didn't interfere with sporting decisions early on and left it for Zubi & Lucho. 6 of our starting line up in the treble and double seasons was signed post Laporta (Bravo/MATS, Mascherano,Alba,Rakitic,Neymar & Suarez)
5- I judge by the approach and end results, last year people were all over R.Fernandez and how we are finally having a true SD, I said that it remain to be seen how the deals he made will work for us although I liked his approach in the market. This year I think many of the decisions could be understandable depending on how the market folds. In most cases I decided not to actually talk until it is officially over, and even after it won't be final opinion until midway next year. that isn't defending A or B, that is being objective and not talking just based on emotions and frustrations.
