So? Neymar was clearly world class at 20. Messi was the best player in the world at 20. Isnt this guy meant to replace Neymar and Messi?

no, he isn't. He is meant to be your new RW, regardless of wether Neymar leaves or not. If you are looking for a Messi replacement, then wait 50 years and sign noone till someone is that good again.

I've never seen a player that fans doubted more than a 20 years old Neymar. It wasn't until his confederation cup performance that fans started to like him

You think BVB will sell if we throw 80m cash at them?

BVB know they can't keep him forever, so they will eventually.
When it comes to the price it will probably be a mixture between "BVB is bad at selling" and "Barca is bad at buying". If you sell Neymar however you can definitely expect everyone to up their prices for you.

They have to line up all deals before the sell neymar, yes everyone will know we are about to see him, but the news going official will send the price up 10% on all our dealings.

I am a huge dembele fan, but if we can get MBAPPE sign him first, since he will be a more natural fit to replace neymar, give them 160m if needs be and call it a day, but start at 110.

Sell him on being the face of the club for the next decade playing with Messi for the next 3 years and developing his game learning from the best and see what happens.

Then try to get dembele for around 80/90 this summer or next.

Don't think BVB will sell him this summer even if we throw money at them. That said, I think BVB is well positioned to replace him since they have Pulisic and Mor for the RW position and they have Goetze back and they have acquired Dahoud for the AM/CM position that Demebele dabbled in (and sucked at).

Teams will up their prices to the maximum point, but they also need to know that if you ask too much, you will not sell the player, and the interest for Dortmund is to sell players and fund themselves, as they lack the financial power of Bayern for example.

Mbappe is more suited as a striker than as a winger though.
You'll be looking for players with decent dribbling and passing attributes on that position and Dembélé would fit better here.

those are crazy sums of money for players who have only played one or 2 season at the highest levels

I hope our board are smarter then that.

So what is the smart thing to do? Splashing 100m on players like Lukaku? These are the prices we have to deal with. We can talk about "crazy prices" as much as we want, but signing great quality talent will be expensive. And trying to sign starters from rich clubs is basically impossible. So to get world class players we have to invest in young players. Cant sign 27 year olds who have played 6 seasons at Sevilla already.

He is free to leave, we don't need a person like him in the club and definitely NO to a new deal.

What? Of course we need him. Madrid fans nearly lost thier shits when CR said he was leaving this summer. But even they didnt say they didnt need him and swallowed thier pride to welcome him when he changed his mind
